A fundraising campaign has started on GoFundMe for actor Mickey Rourke, known for his roles in Marvel films, to help him cover a $60,000 rent debt. The campaign has already raised over half the needed amount, leading to discussions about the actor’s overall wealth.
Mickey Rourke began his career as an actor, then spent time as a professional boxer. He left boxing in 1994 and returned to acting, appearing in films like 9 ½ Weeks, Sin City, The Rainmaker, The Pledge, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and Man on Fire.
Mickey Rourke is also known for his acting roles, including a critically acclaimed performance as an aging wrestler named Randy “The Ram” Robinson in the movie The Wrestler. Many fans will also remember him from blockbuster films like Iron Man 2 and the first Expendables movie.
Despite being a very successful and busy actor, Robert De Niro is reportedly facing eviction, according to his friend and manager, Liya-Joelle Jones.
What is Mickey Rourke’s net worth?

It’s hard to say exactly how much Mickey Rourke is worth. While Celebrity Net Worth recently reported his net worth as just $50,000, other sources like The Richest have estimated it to be between $2 million and $10 million in the past.
So, when it comes to how much money Mickey Rourke made per movie, it really depends on the role. I looked it up, and apparently he earned around $1.25 million for Angel Heart back in ’87. Later on, he got $4 million for Man on Fire, and a pretty hefty $7 million for Sin City. It’s cool to see how his paychecks jumped over the years!
Some people believe he made between $100,000 and $200,000 for these jobs, and occasionally even a lower amount.

So, I was reading that Robert Downey Jr. really had Ron Perlman’s back! Apparently, the studio initially offered Perlman $250,000 for his role in Iron Man 2, but RDJ stepped in and convinced them to give him a better deal. It’s cool to hear how much he supported his co-star!
The actor has publicly discussed his past difficulties with money and personal struggles, explaining that he often faced financial hardship even while consistently working as an actor. He shared with The Standard in 2012 that his own life experiences mirrored those of his character in the film, The Wrestler.
He described a period of 15 or 16 years where he behaved terribly, losing control of his life. He hit rock bottom, losing his home, wife, finances, and job before he could begin to turn things around.
Mickey Rourke’s role in The Wrestler (2008) wasn’t simply acting; it was a remarkable comeback. After being largely dismissed by the industry, Rourke revitalized his career, bringing all of his personal struggles and newfound determination to the character of Randy “The Ram.”

Someone suggested I seek help, and though I was hesitant, I eventually went because I had lost everything.
He admitted his biggest regret wasn’t losing his wealth, but losing his wife, Carré Otis, whom he’d met while working on ‘Wild Orchid’. He explained that the real pain came from the consequences of his own self-destructive behavior and the feeling of failure that followed.
Rourke revealed he spent $60,000 on therapy to cope with his difficult childhood.
GoFundMe asks to help actor stay in his home
I was so relieved to see my friend Jones started a GoFundMe on Sunday, January 4th, to help Rourke avoid being evicted. It’s been incredible – as of Monday, January 5th, they’ve already raised over $55,000 towards their $100,000 goal! It’s amazing how quickly people have come together to support him.

Jones described Mickey Rourke’s arrival in American film as a powerful and unique event, highlighting his raw talent, fearlessness, and originality.
As a huge fan, I always felt like Mickey Rourke didn’t just act in films like Diner, Rumble Fish, and 9½ Weeks – he became the character. It wasn’t a performance, it felt real, and he really left a lasting impact on American movies, in my opinion.
She pointed out that Robbie Kourke consistently took risks throughout his life, choosing a challenging path rather than a secure one. He pursued what he believed was real and genuine through boxing, but this came at a cost, leaving him with both physical and emotional wounds.

She went on to explain that the following years were difficult, not marked by dramatic events, but by a constant effort to simply get by. She faced health problems, money troubles, and the hidden pain of feeling forgotten.
Mickey is currently in danger of losing his home, and we’re starting this fundraiser with his okay to help him cover rent and other housing costs right away and prevent eviction.
Being well-known or skilled doesn’t shield anyone from difficult times, and success isn’t always secure. Ultimately, everyone deserves respect, a place to live, and an opportunity to get back on their feet.
We’re hoping to help Mickey find some stability and peace of mind right now, as he’s going through a really tough time. Our goal is to help him stay in his home and have the breathing room he needs to recover. Every donation, big or small, will truly make an impact.

One person wrote, “Mickey Rourke is a truly exceptional actor. Just remember, your fans appreciate you and are thankful for all the wonderful performances you’ve given us over the years.”
Touched by the outpouring of support, Jones shared with The Hollywood Reporter that Mickey is facing a tough period, and it’s been heartwarming to see so many people offering their care and assistance.
Why Rourke is facing eviction
According to the Los Angeles Times, Mickey Rourke is at risk of being evicted from his home in Los Angeles. He owes $59,100 in back rent. Court records show he received a notice on December 18th, giving him three days to pay the amount owed or move out.

Rourke rented the three-bedroom house in March of last year for $5,200 per month. The rent was later increased to $7,000 a month.
According to a listing in the LA Times, the home is a charming, renovated Spanish-style bungalow originally built in 1926. The owner, Eric Goldie, is requesting payment to cover his legal costs and any damages incurred.
Last year, Rourke was a contestant on the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother, and reports suggest he earned around $620,000 for his appearance.
Despite its popularity, the show faced significant criticism and hundreds of complaints because of language and actions by Rourke that many found offensive. This included hurtful and homophobic comments, particularly those directed at fellow contestant JoJo Siwa.
Following a warning and several more issues, Rourke was removed from the show. Someone later shared with The Sun that his pay was reduced because of the problems, but this information hasn’t been officially verified.
Fan reaction is mixed
People have had different reactions to the GoFundMe campaign. While many have shown support, others are finding it hard to feel sorry for the recipient. One Reddit user commented, “Asking for money to help pay for a $7,000-a-month house? I’m not contributing.”

Someone else commented that while they enjoyed his films and felt bad to hear about his financial troubles, he was known in Miami during the 1990s for living a very extravagant life and spending money recklessly.
Someone else commented, ‘He was dressed as Iron Man.’ Then they wondered if that costume couldn’t have at least helped him secure housing. Another person pointed out the GoFundMe was created by his management team, and sarcastically suggested that better management might have allowed him to afford rent.’
The video about actors’ salaries has sparked a lot of discussion online. One commenter pointed out that with $68 million, the actor could have made even more money if he’d invested it during his peak popularity in the 1990s.

A comment on a GoFundMe page, posted by a user named ‘Mr Nobody’, has been getting attention online. The comment read, “There are many people around the world who need this money more than you. I was happy to pay the $5 to post this.”
The campaign isn’t universally disliked, though. One supporter said, “Best of luck, Mickey! You’ve clearly made a difference in many people’s lives. We’re all hoping you succeed.” However, another person disagreed with a critic, stating that the campaign felt poorly timed and unnecessarily harsh, like taking advantage of someone’s misfortune.
