Final Fantasy is a hugely popular gaming series with a long history, starting in the late 1980s. Over the years, we’ve seen many great games, including Final Fantasy Tactics, which came out in 1998. While the original game is starting to show its age on today’s systems, there’s good news! An expanded remaster, The Ivalice Chronicles, was released yesterday, bringing back the familiar gameplay and stats. Key elements like Bravery and Faith are once again central to the experience, so understanding how they function is important.
How does Bravery work in Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles?
In Final Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles, a character’s Bravery score impacts their luck and performance during battles. It’s represented as a value from 0 to 100-higher is always better, so it’s important to manage this statistic. You can increase Bravery by:
- using Steel (Ramza’s Squire) and Praise (Orator) abilities.
- Bravery Boost (Dancer’s reaction ability triggered during battles).
So, what does this statistic actually do? As I said before, it’s helpful in combat. Bravery boosts the damage you deal with fists and certain weapons. It also improves your chances of activating your reaction ability.
Chemist’s Treasure Hunter is affected by this number as well. If your Bravery is too high, the skill won’t work well.
Okay, so in this game, if one of my characters’ Bravery drops below 10, they get what’s called Chicken status. It’s pretty rough – basically, I lose control of them when we’re in a fight. They just freak out and do their own thing, which usually isn’t good!
How does Faith work in Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles?
As a big fan of FF Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles, I’ve learned that Faith is really connected to magic, and it actually works a lot like Bravery! It’s basically a stat that ranges from 0 to 100. The higher your Faith score, the better your magical abilities become – meaning your spells will hit more often and do more damage. But here’s the tricky part: if a character permanently hits 95 Faith, they’ll leave your party! If you want to increase a character’s Faith, you need to:
- use Preach (Orator’s ability);
- trigger Bard’s Faith Boost reaction ability.
- on the other hand, to reduce it, you can use Enlighten (Orator’s ability).
Certain characters identify as Atheists. This indicates their Faith score is at zero, preventing them from using magic. Having low Faith isn’t necessarily negative, however. These warriors are more resilient to magical damage, making them particularly effective in battles against magic users.
