What are Dunk & Egg actors doing after A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?

Now that the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has finished, here’s a look at what the actors who played Dunk and Egg are working on next.

The new show, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has launched the careers of its stars, Peter Claffey, who plays Ser Duncan, and Dexter Sol Ansell, who plays Egg.

Honestly, one of the best things about the show is the connection between the two main characters. It’s so cool to watch the experienced knight take this young kid under his wing and really mentor him as his squire – their dynamic is just fantastic and really makes the story work!

The show’s characters finished their journey by traveling to Dorne, hoping to find new excitement, and here’s what the actors who played them are up to now…

Peter Claffey has two movies in the can

Peter Claffey, a former rugby player, was an ideal choice to play Duncan. He convincingly portrayed the character’s courage, honesty, modesty, and faithfulness, and his powerful physique added to the role.

Prior to landing a role in AKotSK, Claffey appeared in several television series including Wreck, Viking: Valhalla, Borderline, and, most recognizably, Bad Sisters.

Claffey recently finished filming a TV movie, Compound Fractures, where he plays a nurse alongside the beloved late actor George Wendt, best known for his role on Cheers.

He’s also starring in the comedy film You’ll Never Believe Who’s Dead, which is about an Irish family who jokingly plan a robbery during their Christmas gathering—and then accidentally end up trying to carry it out.

Dexter Sol Ansell is travelling ‘500 Miles’

Dexter Sol Ansell was incredibly charming as Egg, perfectly capturing the character’s childlike innocence, genuine curiosity, and kind heart, while also hinting at a surprising level of maturity.

Prior to landing the role in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Ansell was recognized for playing Young Coriolanus in The Hunger Games: A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

He’s starring in a new film called 500 Miles, alongside Bill Nighy. The movie tells the story of two brothers who travel across the west coast of Ireland looking for their grandfather, whom they haven’t seen in a long time.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 is next

Currently, both Claffey and Ansell are filming the second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s novella The Sworn Sword – the second in the Dunk & Egg series.

HBO had so much faith in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms that they approved a sequel series before the first season even aired. Filming for the sequel is already underway at Titanic Studios in Belfast.

Following the events of The Hedge Knight, Dunk and Egg press on in their quest to find the puppeteer Tanselle. They soon fall under the protection of the aging knight Ser Eustace, and along the way, they encounter another knight who seems likely to cause problems.

Dunk and Egg rarely find lasting peace, quickly becoming entangled in the complicated plots of local lords. Meanwhile, a hidden and dangerous mystery begins to emerge, potentially revealing shocking truths about the famous Battle of Redgrass Field.

You can now watch all six episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on HBO. If you’re looking for more from the Game of Thrones universe, we have the latest news on a Jon Snow spin-off, updates on Season 3 of House of the Dragon, and a helpful guide to the Seven Kingdoms.
