Wartales DLC Contract: Fires in the Capital launches on April 30

Shiro Games revealed that the new Wartales DLC, titled Contract: Fires in the Capital, will be released on April 30th.

The ‘Fires in the Capital’ DLC for Wartales will cost $12.99 on PC Steam. You can add it to your Steam wishlist now before it releases. Wartales is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (on Steam and GOG).

Wartales, the popular medieval RPG with over a million copies sold, is adding a new DLC focused on intense city battles. Called ‘Contract: Fires in the Capital,’ it will be available on PC through Steam on April 30, 2026.

Gather your forces and head to Isandrin, the capital of Edoran. Conflict between the Legion and the Empire has created extreme tension, and the city is on the verge of chaos. Your choices will determine whether Isandrin can be saved or will fall into complete disorder.

Isandrin offers a very different experience than the usual lands explored by Wartales mercenaries. While fighting is still an option, it’s not the only way to make progress. You can also hunt down bandits, dismantle enemy propaganda, help local communities, or even earn money by playing music – and all of these actions can significantly impact things like prices and how people feel about you.

Experience intense urban combat inspired by a besieged capital city. Hunt down escaping criminals before they can wreak more havoc, protect vital supply convoys from relentless enemy attacks, and brave the fiery streets to save civilians – all within a dynamic, ever-changing medieval city.

According to Shiro Games’ Game Director, Quentin Lapeyre, Wartales players have been eager to discover more about the Legion and the Empire’s government. The new ‘Contract: Fires in the Capital’ expansion delivers on that desire, placing players directly within the Empire’s power center. This offers a fresh experience for Wartales, which previously focused on the edges of the game world. Isandrin, the city featured in the expansion, is designed to be a dynamic and responsive environment where player choices can have significant consequences for everyone who lives there.

The new Wartales DLC, ‘Contract: Fires in the Capital,’ will be available on PC through Steam starting Thursday, April 30, 2026. It costs $12.99, €10.99, or £12.99 and supports English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Korean languages.
