Josh Goldstine, the leading figure in marketing at Warner Bros., renowned for orchestrating the globally acclaimed “Barbie” promotional campaign, has decided to move on. Additionally, the studio’s head of international distribution, Andrew Cripps, is also leaving his position.
In a significant reorganization, Jeff Goldstein, who has been with Warner Bros. as their longtime domestic distribution head, has been given a promotion and will now be responsible for managing the entirety of the company’s worldwide cinema release activities.
In 2021, Goldstine moved to the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, having worked at Universal Pictures for a period of seven years prior. He oversaw the promotional efforts for movies like “Dune,” “The Batman,” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” and “Wonka.” However, he is most recognized for coordinating the pink publicity blitz of “Barbie,” an extensive marketing campaign that’s likely to be a subject of discussion in academic seminars for many years.
Over the past few years, it’s been an immense pleasure working alongside a team whose talent and dedication never cease to impress me. They’ve poured their hearts into every project, whether it was a film from any conceivable movie genre. As I embark on a new journey, I carry with me a treasure trove of fond memories shared with each one of you, and I cheer for your successes as your films continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
At Warners, Cripps has been steering the ship for more than five years now. During this time, he skillfully guided the company through the tumultuous period brought about by the pandemic and managed not one, but two labor disputes that significantly impacted the industry.
During my stay, I’ve truly cherished every moment, even amidst the challenges posed by Covid-19 and the significant transformations within our industry. It’s been the camaraderie and the global team that have truly made this experience memorable for me. I trust you will continue to back them and our company wholeheartedly, ensuring our films achieve great success. As I assist in transition plans, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your unwavering dedication.
