Warframe is getting its first update of the year with Techrot Encore next month

As a dedicated fan, I was thrilled during Digital Extremes’ first Devstream of 2025 when they unveiled Warframe’s major update for this year – the highly-anticipated sequel to Warfame: 1999, named Techrot Encore. Excitingly, it’s scheduled for release next month on all platforms!

Last month saw the launch of Warframe: 1999, and next month, Techrot Encore – our first major update – will be unveiled in March. Beyond Techrot Encore, we’ll be sharing details about new Protoframes, TennoCon 2025, and other exciting news during our first Devstream this year. Additionally, the Warframe Year in Review 2024 is now accessible for everyone!

Among other notable moments during the broadcast were showcasing Warframe’s 60th addition, Temple; a new musical collaboration between members of metal band Periphery for a song released during the stream; and the announcement that Lavos Prime will be joining the game on February 12 as the first Prime Warframe to debut in 2025.

In simpler terms, Soulframe’s recent livestream provided a sneak peek at the upcoming experiences for Preludes (Pre-Alpha Test) players in 2025. This includes an enlarged game map that introduces a fresh story quest called Fable and a new Ancestor with a captivating history waiting to be discovered.

2025 promises to be another exhilarating year, and we’re eagerly looking forward to revealing more details about our grand plans for our Warframe and Soulframe gamers as we gear up for a decade-long celebration of TennoCon in July, shared Megan Everett, Director of Community at Digital Extremes. Our community lies at the core of all our endeavors, and this year, we aim to enhance the regularity and frequency of updates provided to Soulframe Preludes players during our Pre-Alpha phase, while simultaneously maintaining the unparalleled community experiences cherished by Warframe gamers.
