Warframe 1999 Launches Friday With Guns, Motorcycles, And Killer Y2K-Bots

As a seasoned gamer who has been around since the days of dial-up internet and pixelated graphics, I must admit that Warframe 1999 has piqued my interest like never before. The nostalgic vibe it exudes, with its ’90s aesthetic and Easter eggs, takes me back to a time when I was just discovering the joy of gaming.

In the sequel to Warframe, titled Warframe 1999, an enticing new trailer was unveiled at The Game Awards. This upcoming chapter is set on the cusp of the new millennium and will bring fresh faces as characters, diverse mission styles, a fully vocalized series of transformable cosmetic outfits, and Cyte-09, the 59th Warframe. It’s scheduled for release across all compatible platforms from December 13 onwards.

Back in early this year, Developer Digital Extremes gave us a glimpse into Warframe, which they had hinted at in 1999. The latest TGA trailer unveiled six Protoframe characters from the group known as The Hex, who were seen defending the city of Höllvania against the invading Scaldra army and Techrot infestation. Digital Extremes’ Rebecca Ford also shared that the new content will feature additional romanceable characters, a soundtrack available in both digital and physical formats, and numerous Easter eggs for fans of the ’90s era.

1999’s Warframe version unveils a fresh ride attachment, the Atomicycle, which boasts impressive maneuvers such as drifting, leaping over bullets, and even transforming into an explosive device when hurled among a swarm of adversaries.

The recently introduced Cyte-09 Warframe appears to be quite intriguing for players’ toolkits due to its ability to exploit enemy vulnerabilities. It offers features such as scanners that reveal and enable shooting of enemies even through walls, deployment of elemental ammo crates, utilization of stealth technology, and the summoning of a potent sniper rifle known as the Neutralizer. This weapon is unique, featuring bullets that bounce off surfaces and a freezing grenade launcher. In the field, players can acquire the latest assault rifle, Reconifex, and secondary pistol, Vesper 77.

In this gaming world I inhabit, Digital Extremes has thrown in a blast from the past with Caliber Chicks 2, a slick ’90s-style side-scrolling action game, collaboratively crafted with Sumo Digital. Plus, the latest cosmetics offer an insane level of personalization! And here’s the cherry on top: expect some top-notch enhancements like Trinity and Nyx getting a facelift in the light department, more space for weapons and Warframe slots, and no more waiting periods for Mastery Rank Tests if you don’t pass. Game on!
