The upcoming WandaVision sequel series in 2026 is expected to have a significant link to Wolverine. The story of WandaVision will continue in the new Vision Quest series, focusing on Vision (played by Paul Bettany), Wanda Maximoff’s synthetic partner, after his return at the conclusion of the 2021 streaming event. Although WandaVision forms the core of the new series, it will also strongly connect to the wider Marvel Universe.
A recent report by insider Daniel Richtman uncovered an unexpected link to Wolverine in the forthcoming Vision Quest series. The Marvel insider claims the 2026 streaming show will feature Madripoor, a well-known location from the comics frequently connected to Marvel’s clawed mutant.
I just saw on Richtman’s X account that our city is going to “play a major role” in this new series! He didn’t say *how* exactly, which is leaving me totally intrigued and wanting to know more. I’m already speculating!
“Madripoor will play a major role in ‘Vision Quest’ by the way.”
I saw this post after someone else on X talked about Madripoor. It all started when Insomniac announced their new Wolverine game for PlayStation would be taking us to that famous place from the comics – Madripoor! It was cool to see they were including such an iconic location.
Madripoor is strongly associated with the character Wolverine in the comics. Logan has made numerous trips to the city throughout his comic book history, going all the way back to when the popular mutant fought in World War II.
This fictional South Asian city has been featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before, playing an important role in the popular series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. If the information in Richtman’s report is correct, Vision Quest will bring the city back to the MCU in a big way.
Vision Quest is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2026, potentially between July and December. This new series will follow Paul Bettany as Vision deals with several out-of-control artificial intelligences, including Ultron, the main villain from Avengers: Age of Ultron.
How Will Madripoor Play Into Vision Quest?
Although Madripoor might not immediately come to mind when fans speculate about the future of WandaVision, it could be the perfect setting for a series like Vision Quest.
The world of criminals and villains within Marvel Studios’ movies and TV shows hasn’t been examined in great detail so far. This is surprising, considering how important the large city in South Asia is in the original comic books.
Considering Madripoor’s past as a hub for illegal activities and its connections to criminals, it’s understandable why the city showed up in the 2026 Disney+ series.
For several months, there have been rumors that villains from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will return in Vision Quest, such as James Spader as Ultron and Faran Tahir as Raza. It makes perfect sense to reintroduce them through the main center of criminal activity within the Marvel universe, doesn’t it?
Whether Madripoor’s ties to mutants will be important remains to be seen. However, considering the city’s significant role in many Wolverine comics, fans might get some hints pointing towards the famous, clawed hero finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
