Vin Diesel shared a heartfelt tribute to Paul Walker on social media, marking twelve years since the actor’s death. Walker tragically died in a car accident on November 30, 2013, while filming Furious 7, and Diesel consistently honors his memory each year on this date.

Vin Diesel recently shared a post on Instagram continuing a long-standing tradition. Along with a photo of him and Paul Walker taken behind the scenes on a Fast & Furious movie set, Diesel emphasized that Walker still has a significant impact on many parts of his life.

In a recent post, Vin Diesel revealed he named his daughter Pauline after his late “Fast & Furious” costar, Paul Walker. Twelve Years

Pablo,

I called her Pauline. Though I never had the chance to meet her Uncle Pablo, saying her name always makes me feel like she’s close by.

Dark days, walking through life with a broken heart, hiding it from the world.

Others recognized the challenges… Kobe was among those who understood how difficult things were, and how tempting it would have been to quit. Michael, a long-time friend, was another. He had foreseen Pauline’s birth.

birthday… and he was right.

These angels found me exactly when I needed them. I believe in my heart that they were sent by you.

Pauline, your namesake, plays basketball now. Wears 24 and got MVP this season.

Bet you and Kobe are smiling… together.

Do you remember Lil V, that sweet little boy whose second birthday party we celebrated in London? He’s fifteen now, and he’s actually taller than me! He’s really growing up into a fine young man, and I know you’d be so proud of him. It reminds me of when you first met my eldest son and said he had your same look.

I cherish even the little things we shared. Like you on the set, cuddling with Alpha Angel, or watching SpongeBob on your new iPhone. And that mischievous grin – you always knew how to playfully get under my skin, which was funny, really.

I’d give anything to be irritated by you one more time.

Meadow means so much to my kids – she’s like a sister to them. I remember when we were filming the first Fast & Furious movie, you spoke about her with such warmth and admiration.

You showed how sacred fatherhood would be.

This summer, when my mom saw me, it was like she didn’t really see me at all. She seemed to be looking past me, searching for you, as if she hoped to find a glimpse of her son in my face.

She was right, of course. You’ve always been my soulmate. I wouldn’t have gotten through everything without the support of your family.

Being at Thanksgiving with my family got me thinking – I really cherish the connection we have. It’s rare to find people who just get you, who you can comfortably be silent with, or understand without even speaking. I feel so lucky that we’ve always had that kind of bond.

Twelve years.

Not sorrowful, brother.

Blessed.

The universe keeps placing angels in my path. I know you are a part of it… a brotherhood eternal.

Love you forever…

V

Paul Walker first appeared as Brian in the 2001 film The Fast and the Furious, a low-budget action movie that unexpectedly launched a hugely successful franchise. The series has now earned over $7 billion worldwide. Along with Vin Diesel’s Dom and Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty, Walker’s Brian became one of the central characters, appearing in five more films.

Paul Walker tragically passed away during the filming of Furious 7. Production was temporarily halted as the filmmakers considered how to proceed. Ultimately, they decided to keep his character, Brian, in the movie and used Walker’s brothers to help create a digital version of him.

After Furious 7 digitally brought back Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner hasn’t been seen in any of the later movies, even though the story hasn’t acknowledged his death. Now, as the Fast & Furious saga prepares to end, Brian is expected to make one final appearance.

Released in 2023, Fast X was promoted as the next-to-last film in the series focusing on Dom Toretto. While the movie received a mixed reception, it didn’t perform as well financially as expected, considering how much it cost to make. A sequel, Fast X: Part 2, is planned, but its release has been delayed multiple times and is currently scheduled for April 2027.

The ending of Fast X hints at what’s next in the series, and Vin Diesel has confirmed that Brian O’Conner will be back in Part 2. While it’s unknown how significant Brian’s role will be – whether it’s a major part or just a brief appearance – Diesel has consistently stated that the franchise needs to pay tribute to the late Paul Walker one last time.

There are reports that production on Fast X: Part 2 is facing budgetary issues, largely due to the cost of the cast. Bringing back Paul Walker through digital effects will be particularly expensive. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the future of the Fast & Furious series, Vin Diesel clearly remembers and values the significant impact Paul Walker had on both the franchise and his personal life.
