The online game Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt will be ending its service in 2026, becoming another live service game to close down.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is a battle royale game set in a dark, fictional version of Prague. Players take on the roles of vampires fighting for survival against each other and a powerful group called the Second Inquisition, who are hunting them with a deadly, spreading mist. The goal is to be the last vampire remaining as the Inquisition tightens its grip.
The game Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt was released in 2022, but updates stopped in 2023, putting it into a limited maintenance state. Now, the developer, Sharkmob, has announced the game’s servers will permanently close on April 28, 2026.

I was really bummed to hear the news – apparently, not enough people are playing Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt to keep it going. The official word is that the servers will be shut down in 2026, which is a huge disappointment. It’s sad to see a game I enjoyed fade away like this.
It’s really disappointing to see Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt struggling, because it brought some fresh and exciting ideas to the battle royale format. The game also had a wonderfully realized world and style. While the battle royale genre wasn’t a perfect fit for the original tabletop RPG, the game still cleverly included many of its core ideas.
Sharkmob should at least be pleased that their game lasted much longer than Concord and built a truly dedicated community. It’s unfortunate that, despite this, it wasn’t enough to succeed in such a competitive gaming market.
Now that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt has finished and Bloodlines 2 wasn’t very well-received, it might be time for the Vampire: The Masquerade franchise to take a break before anyone tries making another video game based on it.
