As a seasoned Valheim player with countless hours spent slaying trolls and upgrading my equipment, I eagerly await the arrival of version 1.0. While I’ve grown accustomed to the game’s slow but steady progress, the prospect of a new biome, the Deep North, has me brimming with anticipation. However, as a wise man once said, “In Valheim, time is like a Valkyrie’s arrow – it moves at its own pace.

Valheim is a multiplayer game that’s based on Norse mythology and survival. Players fight increasingly powerful enemies but also need to improve their gear by gathering resources and exploring dangerous areas. Even though it was launched on February 2nd, 2021, it’s still in Early Access. However, this is soon going to change because the upcoming biome will signal version 1.0 release. Wondering when that will happen? Check out our article for more details.

How Long You Have To Wait For Valheim 1.0 Release

In a Development Blog posted on November 20th, Iron Gate AB unveiled details about an upcoming enhancement to their game. This update will introduce the last biome, hinting at the imminent launch of the full version of Valheim 1.0. The name of this final biome is the Deep North. As of now, they have not disclosed the exact release date for this update.

In essence, given that the significant updates for Valheim are typically spaced out several months apart, as seen by the gaps between The Bog Witch (released October 29th), Ashlands, Mistlands, and Hearth & Home (over a year apart), it seems clear that a new major update is still some time away.

It seems that the recent developments could indicate an earlier release of the update compared to initial expectations during the project’s start. However, it’s important to keep in mind that we might not see the Deep North biome until at least half a year from now.
