Unlock the Ultimate Arsenal: Every New Destiny 2 Heresy Act 1 Weapon

In a major shakeup for Destiny 2, Episode Heresy introduces significant adjustments to the game’s meta, along with an enormous arsenal of potent new weapons distributed throughout the entire game world. Many of these weapons are poised to become elite choices.

Similar to previous installments, Heresy is divided into three parts, where new weapons are gradually introduced over a span of months. We’ve been closely monitoring Bungie’s pre-launch streams and social media posts to gather information about every weapon expected in Act 1 and beyond, including seasonal gear, reprisals, Exotics, and other items.

Just like with any significant update for Destiny 2, it will take some time for both Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP) strategies to stabilize, especially when considering the new Artifact abilities at play. Rest assured, we’ll provide lots of insights on the meta later, but for now, here’s what you should be keeping an eye out for during Heresy: the targets you’ll be pursuing.

Seasonal weapons

In the first act of Heresy, the seasonal activity known as The Nether offers four distinct weapons. Among them are the Adamantite and Psychopomp.

The first weapon is a self-supporting Auto Rifle reminiscent of No Hesitation from The Final Shape, while the second one is an Arc Grenade Launcher that creates a zone of denial. It fires several projectiles per round and can incorporate the new Bolt Charge synergy perk, Rolling Storm.

See below for the full table of possible perks for every weapon.

Trials of Osiris weapons

Besides overhauling Trials of Osiris extensively in Episode Heresy, Bungie has also included two new weapons within the loot list for the PvP activity.

One of these is a revamped version of the Void Hand Cannon, titled Exalted Truth, with fresh abilities, and the other is a freshly introduced Solar Sniper Rifle known as Keen Thistle. Check out the table below for all the potential perks each can have.

One weapon is an updated take on the Void Hand Cannon called Exalted Truth, boasting new traits, and another is a recently introduced Solar Sniper Rifle named Keen Thistle. Here’s the table for all the perks each can possess.

Ritual activity weapons (Crucible, Vanguard, Gambit)

Refresh your gameplay with updated treasures in Destiny 2’s essential missions offering compelling reasons to return to Crucible, Vanguard Ops, and Gambit. Among the new arsenal of devastation are the Lotus-Eater, a Void rocket handgun, and Redrix’s Estoc, the first Legacy PR-55 Frame Pulse Rifle introduced since the 2021’s 30th Anniversary update.

Completing the list above are the reappearance of Palindrome as a Nightfall-specific drop and Arc Rapid-Fire Glaive Joxer’s Longsword, which can be obtained through Gambit. You can find details about every Heresy ritual weapon, along with their respective perk pools, in the table below.

This version aims to make the text more natural and easy to read while maintaining the same information as the original. The use of “completing the list” instead of “Rounding out the above” makes it easier for readers to understand the connection between the new items and the previous content, and the addition of “specific” clarifies the exclusivity of Palindrome in Nightfall activities.

Exotic weapons

Lodestar

Lodestar is Destiny 2’s first primary ammo Trace Rifle.
  • Weapon Type: Trace Rifle
  • Element: Arc
  • Exotic Perks: Arc Alignment, Starlight Beam
  • Catalyst: TBD
  • How to get: Reach level 1 on the Premium Season Pass or Level 40 on the Free Season Pass

In simpler terms, Lodestar – an Exotic weapon from Episode Heresy’s seasonal pass that you earn by leveling up – stands out due to several distinctive features. Primarily, it is the first Arc Trace Rifle to use primary ammo instead of special or heavy ammo, and it offers two distinct firing modes.

Just like the Vex Mythoclast, vanquishing adversaries gradually fills a meter. Once this meter is completely filled, it offers temporary perks such as continuous electricity application using Lodestar’s beam on targets.

Barrow-Dyad

  • Weapon Type: Submachine Gun
  • Element: Strand
  • Exotic Perks: Taken Divergence, Panic Response
  • Catalyst: TBD
  • How to get: TBD

Beyond its Strand component and self-reloading feature, Barrow-Dyad is not extensively understood at present. Its Panic Response trait, an inherent aspect of this Exotic Submachine Gun, causes a buildup of blight through inflicted damage. Upon reloading the weapon with accumulated blight, it transforms into Blighted Seekers which autonomously zero in on and perforate adversaries.

It’s not yet clear where players can get their hands on the Barrow-Dyad, but speculation points towards it being a prize from the Heresy’s Sundered Doctrine dungeon, or perhaps a future Exotic Mission that has yet to be announced by Bungie.

Vault of Glass reprised raid weapons

The entire Vault of Glass arsenal gets refreshed perks and weapon crafting.

During the Episode Heresy, the full arsenal of weapons from Vault of Glass gained the ability for crafting, along with updated pools for their perks.

The full list of refreshed perks for each weapon can be found in the table below.

Season of Arrivals reprised weapons

In the Episode Heresy, five weapons originally featured in Season of Arrivals are returning with fresh perk combinations. These can be obtained by participating in activities within Episode Heresy.

New Weapon perks

Similar to past episodes, a fresh set of benefits designed to disrupt Destiny 2’s gameplay dynamics are introduced in Heresy. Here is the complete rundown of the new features:

(or)

In line with earlier episodes, Heresy brings about an array of novel advantages intended to alter Destiny 2’s established playstyle. Here you can find a comprehensive overview of these additions:

  • Rolling Storm: Final blows grant Bolt Charge. While amplified, final blows grant additional Bolt Charge.
  • Demoralize: Precision final blows cause nearby targets to become Weakened. Cooldown between activations reduced.
  • Detonator Beam: Dealing sustained damage creates an explosion around the target.
  • Elemental Honing: Dealing unique elemental damage grants this weapon a stacking damage bonus for an improved duration. This bonus is increased for kinetic weapons.
  • Melee Momentum: Melee final blows with this weapon grant it additional bonus energy and provide increased movement speed while blocking.
  • Reciprocity: When healing projectiles from this weapon strike allies, you also receive an increased amount of healing.
  • Recycled Energy: Reloading after defeating targets grants an increased amount of energy to your lowest charged ability.
  • Tear: Precision final blows cause nearby targets to become Severed. Cooldown between activations reduced.

New Weapon Origin Traits

In the game Heresy, three new characteristics – Time-Lost Trait, Timeless Magazine, Selfless Vessel, and Paracausal Fluid – have been incorporated. These traits can be found on weapons that are unique to the Vault of Glass, seasonal, and reprised Arrivals weapon categories respectively.

Here are the official in-game descriptions of each:

  • Timelost Magazine: Final blows with this weapon grant bonus Super energy. When your Super expires, this weapon’s magazine size is doubled for a long duration and reloads from reserves.
  • Willing Vessel: Dealing damage or defeating targets with this weapon gradually grants increased stability, handling, reload speed, and charge rate. This effect gradually decreases over time but is gained more quickly while near allies.
  • Paracasual Fluid: Gain bonus handling and mobility when damaging targets with this weapon. Swords gain increased charge rate while this perk is active.
