A Canadian university is suing a YouTuber who was previously arrested for a false alarm in a movie theater. He’s now facing legal action for causing disruption in classrooms by cooking curry and throwing it at students.
I was shocked to hear that Ontario Tech University is actually suing Fique Ayub, the YouTuber! Apparently, it’s over some prank videos he filmed around campus in Oshawa. It’s crazy to think a few videos could lead to a lawsuit!
The university told the National Post that Ayub would enter classrooms without permission and disrupt lessons while recording videos for YouTube.
In October 2024, Ayub allegedly disrupted a lecture by speaking in a deliberately exaggerated Indian accent and posing sarcastic questions. He then surprised everyone by pulling a portable stove from his backpack and starting to cook curry.
YouTuber sued for throwing food at students in “catch the curry” game
Ontario Tech University initially decided not to take legal action because they thought the prank might be a single incident, and they worried that responding could encourage more videos to be made.
The university reports that Ayub disrupted another event in October 2025 by unexpectedly appearing at a lecture and declaring his intention to teach his own course.
According to the National Post, Ontario Tech University claims that during a cooking class, Fique threw curry at students and the ceiling as part of a game called ‘catch the curry,’ damaging university property.
The school reported that disagreements between Ayub and students eager to keep learning grew intense, almost leading to a physical altercation. Ayub described the situation as deeply upsetting.
Ontario Tech University is asking the court for at least $50,000 in penalties, plus any money Ayub made from the videos. They claim he illegally filmed on university property and profited from it.
Last November, the Ontario Superior Court, presided over by Justice Susan Healey, issued an order preventing Ayub from coming onto the Ontario Tech campus. He was also required to pay $44,000 in legal costs.
YouTuber claims his videos are “exaggerated” amid $50,000 lawsuit
In a formal response, Ayub refuted the university’s claims, stating his videos are intentionally over-the-top, edited for effect, and meant to be humorous or satirical. He also asserted that the university has no right to any money earned from the videos.
The YouTuber explained that a friend in Pakistan manages his channel, and it’s not run as a business to make money.
According to his legal defense, he creates content simply to entertain and make people happy. He states that everything on his channel, fiqueayub, is heavily edited, exaggerated for comedic effect, and not meant to be taken as a realistic portrayal of actual events. It’s all satire and intended to be funny.
This creator has faced trouble before, not just with recent pranks. He was previously arrested for posting videos of himself and others falsely shouting about a gun threat in a movie theater.
This comes as more businesses and police are cracking down on creators who cause chaos for views.

Well-known streamer Johnny Somali received a prison sentence with mandatory labor after repeatedly causing disturbances with his broadcasts in South Korea.
Jack Doherty, a popular streamer on Kick, could face up to seven years in prison. He’s accused of blocking traffic while recording a video and allegedly having illegal drugs on him at the time.
Heston James, a TikTok user known for his pranks, could face up to 20 years in prison. He filmed himself pretending to be an employee at various businesses and posted the resulting chaos online.
