The fundraiser started with the goal of repairing old stables, but it quickly gained a lot of support when fans of the game Umamusume: Pretty Derby learned it was also helping the real-life horse that inspired a character in the game. By the time the fundraising target was set, thousands of people from Japan and around the world had already donated.
The campaign successfully reached its $675,000 goal early, and will conclude on December 22nd. This demonstrates the ongoing support from Umamusume fans for the well-being of actual horses.
