The prestigious Royal Bangkok Sports Club is all set to host its inaugural Umamusume-themed cosplay horse race, signifying an exciting fusion of anime enthusiasts and traditional equine racing.
In early August, over 450 people dressed as Umamusume characters captivated spectators during Thailand’s Queen’s Cup horse race event. After the races concluded, they were invited onto the field where fans eagerly took photos, shouted enthusiastically from the stands, and even dashed across the racetrack themselves.
Though initially, the Umamusume-themed event didn’t officially take place during the racing schedule, it sparked great interest within the sporting community. Now, this month, the Royal Bangkok Sports Club is advancing their plans and catering to Uma fans’ desires by hosting a genuine Umamusume race for everyone to enjoy!
IRL Umamusume race gets underway
On September 14, 2025, the Royal Bangkok Sports Club (RBSC) has planned an exciting event: a “Cosplay Racing” sprint will follow the day’s last race. Costume enthusiasts will gather at the starting line and race along the same grass track previously used by thoroughbred horses. The winners will receive cash prizes of 3,000 baht ($80) for first place, 2,000 baht ($55) for second, and 1,000 baht ($27) for third.
