Uma Thurman Once Again Becomes A Kill Bill-Esque Assassin In First Look At Prime Video’s New Thriller Pretty Lethal

again becomes a terrifying adversary in a first look at an upcoming slasher.

Pretty Lethal features Iris Apatow, Lana Condor, Millicent Simmonds, Avantika, and Maddie Ziegler as five competitive ballerinas who aren’t particularly close. While traveling to an important dance competition, their bus breaks down, and they have to stay at a creepy inn. The inn is run by Devora Kasimer, played by Thurman, a former ballet star who lives a secluded life.

When the young women realize what they’ve stumbled into, they must rely on their dance skills and teamwork to survive. The film, Pretty Lethal, stars Michael Culkin and Lydia Leonard, and Amazon MGM Studios has just shared initial photos (via Instagram). It will premiere at the SXSW film festival in March 2026.

Vickey Jewson directed three episodes of The Witcher: Blood Origin, and previously directed the films Born of War and Close. Kate Freund, who also appears in the film and has writing credits for Afterlife and Big Baby, wrote the screenplay for Pretty Lethal. Uma Thurman is famous for her roles as Beatrix Kiddo in Kill Bill and Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction.

Uma Thurman has recently been in projects like Dexter: Resurrection, The Old Guard 2, The King of Kings, and Red, White & Royal Blue. It’s still too early to say if her new film, Pretty Lethal, will become one of her most popular movies, but she’s sure to deliver a strong performance as the villain. Right now, Pretty Lethal and Red, White & Royal Wedding are the only films she has scheduled for release.

As a horror fan, I’m keeping a close eye on a bunch of upcoming films, and 2026 is already looking promising! I’m particularly intrigued by Pretty Lethal, which joins the growing list of exciting new titles. I’m also hearing great things about Damian McCarthy’s Hokum, set to premiere at SXSW. And Leviticus, which Neon picked up at Sundance, is continuing its festival run – definitely one to watch. Beyond the festival circuit, we’ve got some bigger releases to look forward to, including They Will Kill You, the sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, and The Bride! – all set to satisfy our cravings for a good scare.

If you’re curious about how a ballerina’s skills translate into action, check out Pretty Lethal. Amazon describes the film as showcasing how the main characters use their years of intense training – including their grace, discipline, and even pointe shoes – to fight for survival. Luckily, you won’t have to wait long to stream Pretty Lethal at home.

Uma Thurman’s new film, Pretty Lethal, which premiered at SXSW, will be available to stream on Prime Video starting March 26, 2026.
