How Survivors and Game Setup Work in Achilles Survivor

To begin a game in Achilles Survivor, you’ll first need to select a domain (realm), followed by a specific place within that realm. Lastly, pick the character, or survivor, you wish to control. The realm and location will influence the bosses and other enemies that appear, while the survivor determines your initial abilities and bonus stats based on their class.

In simpler terms, you gain access to various worlds and destinations by successfully conquering earlier ones and fulfilling tasks assigned there. Conversely, every character has a unique achievement that must be met before they can be unlocked. To find out what these achievements are for each character, just hover your cursor over them in the character selection menu.

Important Things to Do on the Map During a Run

During my Achilles Survivor escapades, I’ll deplete two valuable resources: gold and stone. I can amass gold (used for rerolls) by vanquishing special foes, conquering rifts, and eliminating other enemy spawn points, as well as by plundering chests. These resources are scattered across the map and are highlighted on the minimap located at the top right corner.

Alternatively, stones can be extracted from stone mines (marked by blue circles on the minimap as construction spots), or gathered from natural stone slab spawns. Stones are essential for constructing beneficial combat and utility buildings, particularly the forge, where you enhance your abilities.

How Powers Work in Achilles Survivor

In the game Achilles Survivor, skills or capabilities represent the special moves your character employs to overcome opponents. Every survivor comes equipped with an inherent skill that you can utilize from the very beginning of your adventure. As you progress (level-ups occur at levels 5, 12, and 20), you’ll gain access to three extra skills drawn from a collection of universal skills (refer to our powers tier list to find out which ones are most effective).

As you progress and level up, you’ll have the opportunity to select enhancements that can boost your base attributes or focus on a particular ability. Once you’ve made 5, 10, 15, or 20 enhancements in a single ability, you’ll be able to “upgrade” it (receive bonus features specific to that power) by constructing a “Forge” in one of your available building spots.

How Buildings Work in Achilles Survivor

Buildings offer additional benefits and characteristics crucial for each playthrough. To erect a building, navigate to one of the designated construction areas marked by flags (represented as small blue circles) on the map. The essential resource required for construction is stone.

The key structure is the Forge, where you enhance your skills. Other structures primarily offer general benefits, including inflicting damage in their vicinity, summoning combat allies, or providing healing capabilities. It’s advisable to build structures whenever possible, particularly Fiery Turrets, as they boost your Power Damage by 15%.

How Favors Work in Achilles Survivor

The Favors function serves as an enhancement system, enabling you to boost your strength for all subsequent gameplay sessions. You can access these enhancements from the main menu, with a total of sixteen available, four focusing on structure-related improvements and twelve affecting survivor statistics.

As a devoted player, I’ve found that the resources required to enhance Favors are both Obols and Adamant, which you can obtain by successfully completing runs and achieving milestones. It’s important to note that refunding these resources is absolutely free. For optimal results, it’s advisable to evenly upgrade them. Don’t forget to reset your Favors after amassing 420 Obols to maximize a single Favor, thus unlocking the Priest survivor.
