Video evidence from an aircraft showed that former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had an argument with the cabin staff, leading to his removal from the flight.

The video, swiftly shared on Twitter on January 12 and seemingly captured by a fellow traveler on board the aircraft, depicted the former MMA athlete engaged in conversation with a cabin crew member.

In the beginning of the video, it’s not clear what Nurmagomedov said. However, the flight attendant can be heard saying, “We’ll need to take one of two actions: either you’ll need to move to a different seat because my crew members won’t let you sit in that row, or you’ll have to disembark from this plane.

As Khabib Nurmagomedov voiced his dissatisfaction as “unfair,” the staff member retorted, “This is fair. I’m not going to argue back and forth about it. I’ll get a supervisor involved. You can choose to switch seats or we can arrange for your departure from this flight.” (In character as a gamer: “Dude, I think the decision was unfair, but he ain’t gonna debate me on it. He’s gonna bring in a big boss and give me two options – change seats or get off the plane.”)

Not wanting to relocate, Nurmagomedov stood up and walked towards the plane’s exit.

It wasn’t immediately apparent what led to the disagreement, as some parts of the conversation were hard to understand due to background noise. However, it was evident that the same flight staff member explained later on that her co-workers weren’t at ease with Nurmagomedov occupying the emergency exit row.

Nurmagomedov followed up, stating “They [flight staff] asked me if I know English and I said yes.”

As a gamer, I found myself in an unusual situation aboard a flight. Rumors were swirling that the crew might have hoped for me to shift my seat because they were worried I might not grasp the English safety instructions on the emergency exit hatch right next to me. However, neither the crew nor the airline has confirmed this speculation yet.
