Ubisoft Is Sending Out Compensation To Rainbow Six Siege Players Over Hack

The recent holiday season was rough for Rainbow Six Siege players. A large-scale hack flooded the game with virtual currency, forcing Ubisoft to temporarily close the in-game store and reset player accounts. While the issues aren’t fully resolved, Ubisoft is now giving players compensation for the trouble.

Ubisoft announced on social media that Rainbow Six Siege players who log in between January 16th and 25th will get some free gifts.

  • 4x battle pass XP
  • Ten battle pass levels
  • Missed daily rewards (Delta Pack, Alpha Pack, Auric Mold skin for the P-10C)

Ubisoft says they’re still fixing account issues, and the in-game marketplace won’t be back until later this year.

Most people responding to the message on X asked when voice chat would be fixed. Ubisoft responded by saying that restoring voice chat is still a top priority for their team.

Earlier this year, Rainbow Six Siege was hacked again. This time, the hack resulted in players being unfairly banned for 67 days, a nod to the popular ‘6-7’ internet meme.

The recent update to Rainbow Six Siege, called Siege X, has attracted many returning players, even those who haven’t played in ten years. Because of this success, Ubisoft doesn’t currently plan to create a new Rainbow Six Siege 2 game, according to creative director Alexander Karpazis in an interview with TopMob.

Xavier Marquis, who used to lead creative direction for Rainbow Six Siege, has rejoined Ubisoft. However, he’s not returning to that game. Instead, he’s now working on March of Giants, a new free-to-play multiplayer game where two teams of four players compete against each other.
