Just when you think the battle royale genre can’t get any stranger, a new game arrives. Button Mash is creating ‘Final Sentence,’ where your writing skills determine survival – one wrong word could be your last.
Okay, so this game’s Steam page is seriously intense. It says I’ve never played anything like it, and basically, my typing speed is the difference between life and death. Apparently, there’s a gun to my head with one bullet loaded, and I have to type fast and accurately to survive. Talk about pressure!
A demo for Final Sentence is available until October 20 as part of the Steam Next Fest.
Final Sentence is a fast-paced online game where players battle it out by typing. Make one mistake, and you’re eliminated! The last player typing wins.

Final Sentence lets you play with others in public lobbies that can hold between 40 and 100 players. You can also create private lobbies with just 4 or 8 of your friends.
Since battle royale games became incredibly popular in 2017, we’ve seen a constant stream of new ones appear. While games like Minecraft, PUBG, and Fortnite led the way with huge player bases, the format has been adapted for surprisingly diverse themes – from Scrabble and turn-based strategy to Tetris, Super Mario, and even games inspired by shows like Fall Guys. It seems like there’s always another battle royale on the horizon.
Final Sentence is still in development and doesn’t have a confirmed release date, but the game’s Steam page suggests it might come out in the last three months of 2025.
