Twitch streamer StableRonaldo claims he won $300,000 by making a large bet on the Times Square New Year’s Eve broadcast. He accurately predicted that the cameras would capture a gay couple kissing.
I was totally shocked when the streamer revealed at the beginning of his New Year’s stream that he’d bet a huge $100,000 that they’d show a same-sex couple kissing on the Times Square broadcast! It was a pretty bold move, and I couldn’t believe he’d risk that much money on it.
As soon as the event happened on television at midnight, his bet won, and he received three times the amount he originally wagered.
It was crazy! After I won, clips from my stream immediately blew up on social media. People were sharing the video of me talking about the bet before it happened, and then the reaction when I actually pulled it off. It spread everywhere so fast!

StableRonaldo made a simple bet: he predicted that if a gay couple kissed on the broadcast after the ball dropped, he’d win money. If it didn’t happen, he would lose $100,000.
Earlier in the broadcast, Ronaldo explained his bet, saying people were likely asking themselves why he’d make it. He simply stated it was an easy prediction, as the outcome happens consistently every year, and that’s just the truth.
He excitedly called his mother after winning the bet, sharing the news that he’d gained $200,000 and was starting 2026 in a much better financial position.
It’s now common to see streamers on Twitch making big predictions and betting real money on things happening live, like sports games or other events. They use platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket to place these bets.
StableRonaldo recently made headlines when he left FaZe Clan to stream independently. He was one of the first creators to announce their departure, and now very few streamers remain with the organization.
