Streamer CarnyJared collapsed in exhilaration when he tried to play Guitar Hero’s most challenging song, “Through the Fire and Flames,” at double the normal speed.
The 2005 track “Through the Fire and Flames” is a renowned piece by the British heavy metal group DragonForce, celebrated for its swift and skillful dual guitar solos.
In no time, it gained immense popularity among metal music enthusiasts, and was even incorporated into various video games during that period, including Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, where it served as a hidden track to be unlocked.
Over time, it became a notable challenge in the Guitar Hero series, with appearances in Smash Hits and Live editions.
It found its way into Guitar Hero Smash Hits and Guitar Hero Live, earning a reputation for being one of the toughest songs to master in the entire series.
Twitch streamer faints after Guitar Hero speedrun attempt
For approximately two decades now, speedrunners and Guitar Hero aficionados have striven to perform the iconic tune flawlessly at the fastest pace, with popular Twitch broadcaster CarnyJared among them.
On February 7, 2025, the 24-year-old announcer decided to play DragonForce’s masterpiece at double speed while going live on air.
I can’t believe the reaction my latest stream clip is getting! In a split second before reaching the finish line, I messed up the track – it left me speechless, shocked by the unexpected difficulty of the task I set for myself as a gamer.
The streamer burst out, “This will never stop!”, leaping from his seat in astonishment. “I can hardly fathom what’s happened… It can’t be true. I need to rest; I might faint.
Jared quickly located a chair and, exactly as forecasted, lost awareness moments later. His body slumped in the chair as he gradually came to again.
Wow, man, it feels like I’ve been hit by a truck! Just realized the extent of my blunder now. Man, no way, not again… Oh my word, I think I must have dozed off for a moment.
Jared’s Twitch chat was just as energetic as he was, with one joking, “Bro is PALE!”
“Just need one more shot of coffee,” another suggested.
“I’m f**king dreaming, right?” another asked.
In December of 2024, Elina, a streamer on Twitch, was not the first to lose consciousness while live-streaming; she actually collapsed twice during her Indiana Jones gameplay because of her low blood pressure, necessitating an immediate trip to the hospital.
