Twitch streamer Mizkif responds to Emiru’s allegations

Twitch streamer Mizkif has addressed claims made by his former partner, Emiru, which include accusations of sexual assault, abuse, and threats of blackmail.

During a stream on October 25th, Mizkif and someone else discussed their relationship and when it started to fall apart. He explained that the stress from accusations made in 2022 – claims that he covered up a sexual assault – contributed to the breakdown. Those accusations were later dismissed by the courts.

During a recent 40-minute stream, Mizkif discussed his relationship with Emiru, admitting he didn’t always communicate well. He acknowledged that he sometimes used harsh language and could be aggressive.

Mizkif, whose real name is Matthew Minaudo, explained that conflicts with his partner were escalating. He found himself increasingly needing space from her, and while he used her in his online content, he’d want to be left alone afterward. He admitted he didn’t know how to end the relationship.

Minaudo claims that Emiru didn’t properly care for their pet rabbits while they lived together. He says Emiru owned many rabbits that she initially kept in her room, but when they were moved to the living room, their care was neglected. According to Minaudo, he repeatedly asked Emiru to look after the rabbits, but she didn’t, and several of them died as a result.

Minaudo stated that while they were together, he asked Emiru to avoid wearing pajamas while streaming and to cease communication with her stalkers.

I admit I was controlling. I tried to dictate how she dressed, telling her to avoid pajamas and dress more maturely. I also discouraged her from talking about past relationships or her concerns about stalkers. I didn’t want her to travel without me, and I asked her to avoid spending time with certain people, all because I was afraid of her getting hurt.

He just wanted to protect Emi. He didn’t want her to be harmed or attacked while he wasn’t around, and he wanted to make sure she was safe.

Minaudo acknowledged he had been controlling throughout the relationship, expressing his regret and apologizing. He admitted he should have ended things sooner, but explained he was personally confused at the time and apologized for how things ultimately unfolded.

Minaudo explained that the final nine months of the relationship became very difficult. He said he asked his partner to move out because he needed space, but she constantly wanted to be with him, becoming upset if they didn’t spend time together or weren’t physically close. He specifically mentioned she often wanted him to come over, but he needed to be by himself.

Minuado claimed Emiru was physically aggressive towards him, explaining, “I’m embarrassed things escalated, but Emi also acted violently – she’d throw things like clothes and stuffed animals at me. In response, I’d sometimes punch holes in the walls or slam doors when I was angry.”

Sexual assault allegation

Minaudo and Emiru got back together a month after their breakup. One evening, while visiting Emiru’s house after getting food, he said they started cuddling and kissing for about half an hour. He believed Emiru was comfortable with this, as she mentioned it on her livestream, and he assumed she wanted things to progress further.

She suddenly cried out, which startled me and made me worry that I had done something to upset her. I got frightened and quickly left the house. I’m sorry if my lack of an apology at the time made Emi uncomfortable, and I regret not apologizing then.

Minaudo emphasized that he hadn’t followed or stayed near Emiru at a party they both attended after ending their relationship, wanting to be very clear about it.

It’s been ten months, and I’m confident we’re both better off apart. I did happen to see her at a party, but I want to be clear: I wasn’t following her around. I spent the whole night with friends and, while I was in the same area as her at times, I never lingered or followed her.

During her recent livestream, Emiru shared that she is currently seeking a restraining order against Minaudo.

Minaudo expressed sincere well wishes for Emi, despite disagreeing with many of the things she said today. She also stated she regrets that the situation unfolded as it did.
