I’m so excited! One of my all-time favorite adventures, Treasure Island, is getting a brand new series! It’s incredible to think this story, originally written 143 years ago, is being reimagined for a new audience. The team behind it is really aiming for something different, and they’ve brought together an amazing cast to help bring their vision to life. I can’t wait to watch it when it streams on MGM+ here in the US and on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland!
David Oyelowo will star as Long John Silver in a new six-part series, a fresh take on the famous pirate known for his peg leg and parrot. Jack Huston will play Aaron Graham, a deceptive British agent, while Tomer Capone is cast as Billy Bones and Tom Sweet as Jim Hawkins. Hayley Atwell, popular for her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will also join the cast as Bess Hawkins, Jim’s mother, and her character is expected to kickstart the story’s main events as she embarks on the adventure at sea.
