Last night, Monday Night Raw, the flagship series of WWE, premiered on Netflix, bringing out some big names, bestowing titles and bragging rights, and tackling hip-hop feuds.

At a WWE event such as “Raw,” it’s not unusual to witness Travis Scott wearing a championship belt, Kendrick Lamar facing criticism in his hometown, and Hulk Hogan being met with jeers – all during the same show. This spectacle unfolded live from the newly constructed Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, where the LA Clippers call home.

The event kicked off with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson transitioning from his tough wrestling villain character to expressing genuine sentiments. He expressed heartfelt appreciation towards the WWE Universe and even acknowledged Cody Rhodes, the current Universal Champion who he defeated in a match last year.

The evening commenced as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson moved away from his wrestling antagonist character to speak sincerely. He thanked the WWE Universe and gave credit to Cody Rhodes, the reigning Universal Champion who he battled and defeated in the ring last year.

I, too, gave recognition to my real-life cousin, Roman Reigns, who stepped into the ring shortly after in one of the main events against Solo Sikoa, another of my cousins. For months, Roman and Sikoa, each leading their separate factions under the moniker “The Bloodline,” have been at odds, inflicting damage not only on each other’s bodies but also our egos. In the end, it was Roman who emerged victorious, claiming the title of the undisputed “Tribal Chief” within our family. Following the match, I bestowed upon Roman a sacred Samoan Ula Fala that served as the prize.

As the darkness fell, it was my turn to witness an electrifying showdown in the world of wrestling. My dear brother, Sikoa’s real-life counterpart and Reigns’ cousin, Jey Uso, stepped into the ring against Drew McIntyre. The crowd erupted with anticipation as Jey, a beloved figure within the company, prepared to do battle.

To amp up the energy, none other than Travis Scott made his grand entrance into the ring alongside Jey. Clad in gold chains and wielding a custom WWE title belt, Travis stood proudly above the ring, his hit “Fe!n” echoing through the arena. With a nod from Jey, they shared the spotlight, as the iconic theme song “Main Event Ish” boomed. The crowd, mirroring Jey’s signature move at every entrance, responded with synchronized arm movements, creating an electric atmosphere that promised an unforgettable spectacle.

As a die-hard fan of wrestling, I jumped right into the fray alongside Uso, climbing the ropes and taking my place on the second turnbuckle to pump up the crowd. From there, I moved over to the ring announcer’s table, mimicking the audience’s cheers with my arms raised and down. To top off an unforgettable WWE experience, I even shared a few words backstage in the parking lot with The Rock!

Triple H, WWE’s chief content officer, mentioned during the press conference after ‘Raw’ that they often have celebrities visiting who are fans of our work. Travis Scott is one such individual, much like Bad Bunny, who spent his youth watching WWE and now holds a deep admiration for what we do. He’s eager to contribute to and be part of our endeavors.

Does Scott’s look make one wonder if he’ll ever enter the wrestling ring, much like Bunny has before? That remains to be seen, but Triple H hinted that Scott and WWE have a long-term partnership ahead.

The legendary in-ring wrestler stated that it’s likely we will witness significant developments from Travis Scott, as he believes this is what we can anticipate.

At “Raw”, other famous personalities were present too. Seth Green was seen sitting beside Macaulay Culkin, while Tiffany Haddish mingled with rapper Grafh. Additionally, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ashton Kutcher, Wale, Flo Rida, Oya Baby, and Michael Che could also be seen in the audience.

Even though Kendrick Lamar wasn’t there, his name still stirred up some commotion. During a promotional interview, the duo known as The New Day took shots at him. Xavier Woods declared that Kendrick was “garbage”, and Kofi Kingston argued Drake had won their famous rap contest. The banter of The New Day led to boos from the audience.

However, no one received louder or prolonged boos compared to Hulk Hogan. At one point, the beloved Hulkster emerged to endorse a new beer, but the crowd’s disapproval was so strong that it seemed they were trying to overshadow his words with their vocal disdain.

Other bouts during the evening also took place, with CM Punk defeating Seth Rollins and Rhea Ripley reclaiming her Women’s Championship from Liv Morgan. John Cena made his return to mark the start of his one-year farewell tour in the WWE. Cena, who has been increasingly involved in Hollywood projects, announced last year that 2025 would be his final year as a wrestler. On Monday, he declared to the crowd that he intends to participate and emerge victorious in the February Premium Live Event, “The Royal Rumble.” The winner of this event gets to select a champion to face at “WrestleMania” in the spring, competing in the main event title match.

“Raw” airs every Monday at Netflix at 8 p.m. EST.
