In a recent broadcast of “The Pat McAfee Show,” Travis Kelce shared his enthusiasm about collaborating with comedy icon Adam Sandler. Kelce is slated to feature alongside Sandler in the upcoming Netflix film “Happy Gilmore 2,” expected to hit screens in 2025. At this point, Kelce’s role in the movie remains undisclosed; however, a recently unveiled trailer suggests he may portray a country club employee.

Kelce expressed his joy by saying, ‘That was a long-held dream realized,’ as he had believed that appearing on SNL would be the pinnacle of his acting, showmanship, and entertainment career. But working alongside Adam Sandler, famously known as Happy Gilmore’s character, and Happy Productions, it was an unforgettable experience, truly extraordinary.

Although he’s not the main star, Kelce mentioned that he has several appearances in the movie, and working on “Happy Gilmore 2” turned out to be quite a substantial amount of effort.

Kelce commented that they were both highly professional and delightful to collaborate with. He likened the experience to working with Kansas City Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid in the acting world, as Sandler is just as charismatic off-screen as on-screen. This collaboration was a dream come true for him, an incredibly enjoyable experience.

Apart from Kelce and Sandler, the cast for “Happy Gilmore 2” includes Ben Stiller, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Jacqueline Sophia London, Benny Safdie, and Nick Swardson.

Without revealing much about the plot, the initial “Happy Gilmore” movie told the story of a fiery hockey player who switched to professional golf in an attempt to prevent his grandmother’s house from being repossessed. This film, released in 1996, was skillfully directed by Dennis Dugan and garnered $41 million worldwide, exceeding its production budget of $12 million.
