GungHo has launched the Nintendo Switch eShop page for the upgraded version of *Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter*, giving us a first look at what’s new before the game releases later this week.
So, I checked out the demo for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on the Switch eShop, and it’s actually the original version, not the updated Switch 2 Edition. That means we don’t get a sneak peek at how the upgraded version runs. The eShop page says the Switch 2 Edition will have faster loading, better graphics when docked, and can run at up to 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps. But, it doesn’t say anything about how well it performs when playing in handheld mode – at least, not in the description they’ve put up.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Nintendo Switch 2 features
Enjoy a more comfortable and smooth adventure on Nintendo Switch 2:
- Travel through Liberl Kingdom seamlessly with reduced load times
- Experience sharper graphics with the Nintendo Switch™ 2 Dock connected to a compatible TV
- Enhanced gameplay including up to 4K resolution at 30 fps / 1080p at 60 fps
Contains no changes to in-game content
Before the full game releases on September 19th, you can try a demo of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter! It’s available for download on the North American eShop, the UK eShop, PlayStation 5, and Steam. You can read James’s first impressions of the demo here, his thoughts on the PC version here, and my comparison of the demo across all platforms here.
I’m so excited! Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is finally coming to a bunch of platforms – Switch, PS5, and PC via Steam – on September 19th! It’s going to be awesome being able to play it on all those different systems.
