TPC Financial Services Expands into Gap Loans With Gus Van Sant’s ‘Dead Man’s Wire’

TPC Financial Services, a company specializing in financial services, is now venturing into the field of film gap lending, beginning with an agreement for Gus Van Sant’s independent suspense film titled “Dead Man’s Wire.

The movie has just finished the main filming phase in Louisville, Kentucky. Previously, TPC collaborated with veteran producer Cassian Elwes, a frequent associate of Van Sant, on several ventures.

In times of production hurdles, it’s crucial to have a financing partner who can act swiftly and effectively, according to Elwes. TPC came through at the eleventh hour and sealed the deal promptly, ensuring that ‘Dead Man’s Wire’ stayed on course without any delays. Their skill in handling intricate financial situations is priceless within the independent film industry, and I eagerly anticipate our collaboration for numerous future films.

When production issues crop up, it’s vital to have a financing partner who can respond swiftly and efficiently, as Elwes noted. TPC intervened at the last moment and closed the deal rapidly, ensuring that ‘Dead Man’s Wire’ kept moving forward without any hitches. Their knack for navigating complex financial scenarios is indispensable in the independent film scene, and I am excited to build on our partnership for many more films ahead.

For over fifteen years, TPC has facilitated the financing and loaning process for over 400 films, such as the surprise horror sensation “Longlegs” in 2024 and Neon’s adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Monkey,” due to be released on February 21. Additionally, TPC is collaborating closely with its sister investment bank ACF on more complex financing structures and business transactions.

Ali Jazayeri, head of global lending at TPC, stated that independent film production is at a critical juncture. Our aim is to prevent exceptional films from slipping through the gaps because of financial difficulties. To achieve this, we’re broadening our business, which enhances our capacity to support filmmakers financially, enabling their creative ideas to flourish without undue financial obstacles.

Forest Road Co., a private equity firm based in Los Angeles, has TPC and ACF among its collection of companies under its ownership portfolio.
