Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree Version 1.4 brings in difficulty and balance adjustments for Steam

Bandai Namco and Brownies have released a new update for Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree on Steam. This update includes several improvements to how the game progresses and balances gameplay, including changes to the later stages of the game.

The new version 1.4 update, titled ‘Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree,’ is now available on Steam. We plan to release it on other platforms soon.

Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree is now released globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam.

To enhance gameplay comfort and address certain issues, we have begun distributing an update file.

We kindly ask that you apply the latest update file before continuing your enjoyment of the game.

Main Update Contents

Game Balance Adjustments

Change Difficulty

When selecting Story Mode, the Divine Blessing for player damage reduction rate has been increased.

When you first try a dungeon, the difficulty decreases by 20%. Each time you retry, this reduction increases by another 20%, but it won’t go above a total of 80%.

Dungeons

The number of enemies spawning per room has been partially reduced.

The number of rooms generated per dungeon has been partially reduced.

Slightly reduced the attack, action speed, and HP of enemies.

The probability of obtaining ore coins during medium dungeon runs has been increased.

The effects gained from Receive a Grace have been partially increased.

The effects gained from eating have been increased.

The action range for Tsurugi and Kagura has been expanded.

The correction distance for Tsurugi and Kagura’s attack angles has been increased.

The reduction in attack when Tsurugi and Kagura’s HP is 0 has been mitigated.

Increased the invincibility duration when Kagura Spells activate.

Added invincibility frames to Kagura’s Dash during auto-follow.

Shinju Village

We’ve made it easier to unlock Kagura Spells in the Eternal Flame Dojo by reducing the number of ore coins needed.

The rate of stat increases during attributes at “Eternal Flame Dojo” has been increased.

We’ve updated the items available for purchase and their ore coin prices at Shochikubai Emporium.

The amount of ore required for construction at Otherworld Carpentry has been partially reduced.

We have partially increased the effects gained from buildings at Otherworld Carpentry.

Endgame Content

We’ve adjusted how much enemy Attack and HP can increase in the Cave of Eternal Suffering dungeon.

Changed the maximum HP increase for enemies in the dungeon “Cave of Eternal Suffering”.

Additional Implementations

Dungeons

Partially modified the default controller button layout and key mapping during dungeon play*.

*To apply these settings, go to “Options Screen > Button Settings > Restore Default Settings”.

Now you can see how much total damage Nekomushi is dealing, as well as the damage dealt every second, while you’re in the Character Select Room.

As a fan, I’m really excited about this update! Now, when I’m on the dungeon screen, I can easily see exactly how many rooms are still available after my party enjoys a meal or uses the hot springs. It makes planning our dungeon runs so much easier!

Shinju Village

During your first time playing, you can now skip the tutorial event with the Blacksmith when forging a sword.

Added a notification in “Tokiyomi Shrine” when there is a not seen event upon advancing the era.

Added a display showing Unseen Events on the Shinju Village Medium screen.

Added tips to the medium loading screen.

Event Scene Adjustments

Shortened portions of the Tutorial event.

Bug Fixes

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that annoying sound bug during the “Blacksmith Kien” event when using your mouse on the Steam version is finally fixed! I was getting so frustrated with it, so I’m really glad the developers addressed it. It makes the event much more enjoyable now.

Fixed sound effects on the dungeon result screen.

Other improvements include enhanced stability and usability for some features.
