The Chi
If you’re a Paramount+ subscriber looking for a long, engaging series to watch, check out the drama The Chi. With 7 seasons and 78 episodes – and another season on the way – it’s a great choice for a binge-watching session.
Set in the South Side of Chicago, the series The Chi depicts the often-dangerous realities of everyday life. The first season received high praise and a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes for its realistic and authentic depiction of the area and its challenges. The show, created by Emmy-winning writer Lena Waithe (known for Master of None), recently finished its seventh season in August 2025, and an eighth season is planned.
Fire Country
Since it first aired in 2022, Fire Country has consistently been a top performer for CBS and a popular choice on Paramount+. The show’s fourth season premiered in mid-October, and it’s currently the third most-watched series on Paramount+, only behind its new spin-off, Sheriff Country.
Fire Country follows Bode (Max Thieriot), an inmate who joins a firefighting program hoping to earn a reduced sentence and turn his life around. While it might not be an awards show contender, the show has clearly connected with a large audience who enjoy a bit of drama in their TV series.
South Park
As a critic, I can confidently say that after almost thirty seasons, South Park has cemented its place as one of the most important and hilarious comedies ever made. What really sets it apart is its willingness to jump into current events, no matter how sensitive, and use that as a springboard for sharp social commentary and brilliant satire. It’s not just funny; it’s a cultural touchstone.
Currently in its 28th season, which wraps up in December, South Park has been a huge hit for Paramount+ throughout much of 2025. It’s the second most popular show on the platform worldwide, just behind Tulsa King, and is expected to stay that way until November. With over 325 episodes available, South Park is always a great choice for a funny marathon watch.
1923
Look, Taylor Sheridan is owning Paramount+ right now, and it feels like he’ll be doing so for the foreseeable future – though I hear Peacock might be in his plans down the line. But his 1923, the Yellowstone prequel with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren? Honestly, I think it’s his best work yet. It’s the only series he’s created that’s actually snagged multiple Emmy nominations, and deservedly so. It’s a truly captivating show.
As a fan, I’ve really enjoyed 1923. It fills in the gaps in the Dutton family story, happening between 1883 and the original Yellowstone series. It’s been critically acclaimed too – season two actually got a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes! With just two seasons and 15 episodes total, it’s a really manageable show to watch all the way through in a week on Paramount+.
Mayor of Kingstown
The fourth season of Mayor of Kingstown, a standout show from Sheridan, has gotten off to a great start since premiering in October. The series stars Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, a man who unofficially runs things in a Michigan town centered around the prison system, often fixing problems for others.
The TV series Mayor of Kingstown is inspired by the real town of Kingston, Canada, the hometown of one of the show’s creators, Hugh Dillon. It first aired in 2021 and is currently in its fourth season, with a 97% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
If there’s only one show you can binge this week on Paramount+, it has got to be Mayor of Kingstown.
