Tomb Raider TV Show Will Feature Avatar’s Sigourney Weaver, Role Revealed

Sigourney Weaver, known for her Oscar nomination, has officially confirmed she’ll be joining the cast of the new live-action Tomb Raider series coming to Prime Video.

Kate Weaver shared her excitement about joining the project and collaborating with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, telling Deadline she was ‘very excited.’ She praised the scripts as ‘incredible, funny, and charming,’ qualities she’s come to expect from Waller-Bridge, whom she’s long admired. She said she was ‘delighted’ to be a part of it.

During the interview, Weaver shared that she’ll be playing a character called Wallace, who seems to be original to the series.

Kate Beahan joins the upcoming Tomb Raider series as the third main cast member announced, after Sophie Turner, who will play Lara Croft, and Martin Bobb-Semple, who has also been cast in a regular role.

I’m so excited! It sounds like filming for the Tomb Raider TV show is finally happening – they’re starting in January 2026! Hopefully, we’ll get some news about the show and who’s going to be in it soon. At The Game Awards, two new Tomb Raider games were announced: a remake of the original 1996 game, titled Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, planned for release in 2026, and a brand new game, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, slated for 2027.
