Tom Holland Launches Production Company Billy17 With Producing Deal at Sony Pictures

As an avid movie enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Tom Holland’s move to establish Billy17 banner alongside his colleagues is not just a step, but a giant leap for young talent in Hollywood. Having witnessed the meteoric rise of this prodigious actor since his debut, it’s fascinating to see him take on new roles behind the camera.

Actor Tom Holland has secured a producing agreement with Sony Pictures through his recently established production company, Billy17, in collaboration with his brothers Harry Holland and Will South.

The threesome will initiate their collaboration by launching an exclusive production they’ve jointly created, named “Burnt.” Rodney Rothman, winner of the Academy Award for “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” is slated to pen the script. Although specifics about the storyline are being concealed, the movie is intended as a leading role for Tom Holland.

Additionally, Sony Pictures has plans to create a film version of Graeme Simsion’s popular book “The Rosie Project.” This adaptation will be produced by TriStar Pictures, along with Matt Tolmach and Michael Costigan from Jason Bateman’s Aggregate Films production company.

Moreover, the trio along with Amy Pascal are set to develop a screen adaptation of Teddy Wayne’s latest book, “The Winner.” This project is also planned to feature Tom Holland in the lead roles.

Tom Holland expressed that Sony Pictures have been a cherished partner for nearly a decade, making them an ideal choice to team up with in launching his production company. He’s long harbored this aspiration and is thrilled about the prospect of creating movies that offer enjoyment and repeat viewings on the big screen. The genesis of this dream is ‘Burnt,’ a concept they’ve nurtured for several years, with Rodney on board to write their most ambitious project. They’re venturing into uncharted waters, but are eagerly looking forward to what the future holds.

According to Sony Pictures’ Motion Picture Group chairman and CEO Tom Rothman, “Tom, Harry, and Will possess a wealth of exciting ideas and the drive to bring them to life. We’re fortunate beyond belief to be extending our highly successful partnership with Tom, and continuing our collaborative efforts on our shared franchises into a new phase that will leverage their exceptional production skills, complemented by Tom’s remarkable acting talents. We’re actively developing these upcoming projects, with even more exciting projects likely on the horizon.

The agreement further strengthens Sony Pictures’ longstanding partnership with Tom Holland, who was both the lead actor and executive producer in “Uncharted,” a movie that raked in $407 million worldwide and ranks fourth among the highest-earning video game adaptations domestically. Additionally, it extends their collaboration on Jon Watts’ Spider-Man trilogy, which has amassed almost $4 billion globally. The latest installment of this series, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” grossed an impressive $1.9 billion worldwide, placing it seventh on the list of all-time highest-grossing films globally, third in the domestic market, and setting a new record for Sony Pictures as their highest-earning film to date.

Billy, who is 17 years old, is managed by the talent agency WME, Sloane, Offer, Weber, and Dern, just like Tom Holland, who also falls under the representation of WME, Shelter PR, and the same agencies: Sloane, Offer, Weber, and Dern.
