Fans of the classic cartoon Tom and Jerry can continue celebrating the duo’s 85th anniversary on December 2nd with a new, exciting box set. For the first time, all of Tom and Jerry’s original theatrical shorts will be released on Blu-ray. You can pre-order “Tom and Jerry: The Golden Age Anthology” now for $60. Currently, this 16+ hour collection of cartoons is the best-selling Blu-ray on Amazon.

The newly remastered Tom and Jerry shorts, *Mouse Cleaning* and *Casanova Cat*, are becoming available on home video in the US for the first time. These episodes are known for containing racially insensitive material, which led to the cancellation of their planned inclusion in *Tom and Jerry: The Golden Collection Volume Two*. While similar older content has been released by Warner Archive in the past, these releases included disclaimers explaining the shorts’ historical context and problematic content.
If you can’t wait until December, there are already several Tom and Jerry collections available. One option is *Tom and Jerry: The Complete Cinemascope Collection*, which includes all 23 of their widescreen animated shorts, plus three extra cartoons. These classic shorts are known for their high-quality animation and the over-the-top, often harsh, gags Tom endures while trying to catch Jerry.
These classic cartoons have been updated with brighter colors and clearer sound. While not flawless, they look and sound much better than the older VHS and DVD versions. The collection also includes three bonus cartoons created by the original Tom and Jerry team, William Hanna and Joseph Barbera: *Good Will to Men* (1955), *Give and Tyke* (1957), and *Scat Cats* (1957).
We also recommend the Tom and Jerry: The Spotlight Collection DVD set, which includes three volumes. It’s currently on sale for $14.45, reduced from $38, and features 112 classic Tom and Jerry cartoons across four discs. This collection covers the entire run of the series, from the very first shorts (when Tom was known as Jasper) to later favorites. While this version doesn’t include audio commentary, it still offers plenty of bonus content, including behind-the-scenes looks, documentaries, and extra scenes.
Fans of classic cartoons will want to check out the new Peanuts: 75th Anniversary Ultimate TV Specials Collection, available October 7th for $85. This five-disc set includes 40 remastered animated Peanuts specials, from the very first one in 1965 to 2011 – all in 1080p high definition. It also comes with a 28-page booklet filled with artwork and interesting facts about each special.
