The latest issue of has just reached a massive milestone for IDW Publishing.
IDW Publishing has announced that pre-orders for *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* #13 have exceeded 100,000 copies. The issue, which arrives in stores on December 10th, marks a new beginning for the Turtles and the comic series. Writer Gene Luen Yang is taking over from Jason Aaron, and the story will introduce a new villain named Ujigami as the Turtles embark on another dangerous adventure.

Gene Luen Yang, the writer of the new series, shared that he’s been a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan since childhood, like many people who grew up in the ’80s. He added that the Turtles actually helped launch his comic book career with a Xeric Grant, making him especially excited about this project. Yang and artist Freddie Williams II are thankful for the positive response to *TMNT* #13 and are eager to share what they have in store for readers.
Artist Freddie E. Williams II shared his excitement about working on *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles*, calling it the peak of a lifelong passion. He’s been a fan since playing the *TMNT* roleplaying game, spent ten years contributing to *TMNT* comics, and is thrilled to collaborate with his idol, Kevin Eastman. He’s really enjoying working with Gene Yang and hopes fans will love their new project!
