Titan expedition causes flickering and audio bug. You need to be patient to fix it

A fortnight ago, Worlds Part 2 for No Man’s Sky was unveiled. This latest addition introduced novel aspects such as new minerals and diverse planet types. Regrettably, it also came with some technical glitches, causing black pixels for certain players. Notably absent from the initial update was a new expedition, which had been hinted at. However, the wait is now over, as it was rolled out yesterday – though unfortunately, this release appears to have introduced another bug into the game.

Flickering and audio bug in NMS explained

Following the unveiling of Expedition 17 Titans, users began expressing frustrations over an annoying glitch. Specifically, certain UI components situated at the lower right corner of the screen started flashing rapidly. To add to their annoyance, these elements also emitted sounds during this occurrence.

Currently, I’m afraid there’s no immediate fix for this game bug I’ve encountered. Trying different quests, reloading saves, or restarting the game won’t resolve the issue, but some players have mentioned that it eventually resolves itself after a while. In the meantime, you can lower the game volume and carry on playing, as the flickering should cease eventually. If this bug becomes too bothersome for you, though, you might want to pause your expedition and revert back to your main save for a while. This issue seems to be exclusive to the Expedition mode.

The problem has been brought to the attention of Hello Games as well, so it’s likely that they will fix it in one of their future updates. For now, it might be best to exercise some patience, whether you choose to carry on with your exploration or take a break from it temporarily.
