Megabonk has quickly become a surprising success, catching even the developers of popular games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Palworld off guard. While the game is easy to pick up and play, mastering it presents a real challenge – anyone who’s attempted the AFK Gaming challenge, earned the Kevin achievement, or searched for a boss portal knows this! If you’re wondering how to unlock the Chaos Tome, you’re in the right place. We’ll share some tips on powering up all the Shrines, which is the key to getting the book.

Chaos Tome in Megabonk. How to charge all the Shrines?

At its heart, *Megabonk*, like many games of its kind, relies heavily on chance when creating powerful combinations. You can’t always build the perfect, unstoppable character, and you need to make the most of what you’re given in each playthrough. While completing challenges and unlocking new items and Tomes can broaden your possibilities, it’s not easy – especially when aiming for the Chaos Tome. This item randomly increases a stat with each level, sometimes to incredibly strong levels. But getting it requires a difficult task: fully charging all the Shrines.

The challenge – powering up all Charge Shrines during a Tier 3 run across all three stages without stepping outside the charging area – sounds tough! It’s complicated by the fact that each Tier has 15 Shrines (though some players have only found 12). Completing this on Tier 3 means powering up a total of 45 Shrines. So, how can you successfully do it?

  1. Try completing the challenge on Forest map. It has fewer problematic enemies and bosses than Desert. Get comfortable with it and make sure that you can clear it reliably with Tier 3 enabled.
  2. Do not attempt to charge the shrine when swarm is about to attack. Keep your eyes peeled to spawn timer.
  3. Avoid entering the shrine zone when bosses are nearby. Minimize the risk of difficult encounters when charging.
  4. Pay attention to your minimap to fish out every shrine possible.
  5. Stay as close to the center of the shrine as possible. Keep in mind that even slight clipping out of the zone will nullify your attempt to unlock the Tome.
  6. By any means, do not take Beacon item! While it can be tempting to get it due to healing aura that it offers, it adds 2 more shrines per floor, increasing the risk of failure. Just banish it, if you can.

Apart from those general tips, you can also use either of two recommended characters:

  1. Ninja – Not only does ninja has an amazing passive ability of Shadowstep, which provides more evasion each time they level up, but also this character starts with formidable weapon – Katana. Mobility is also a great addition to Ninja’s skillset that will allow you to move around the map swiftly.
  2. Megachad – His Aura helps a lot to keep enemies around you in check. His Flex can stun enemies, which further decreases the chances of mobs pushing you out of charge zone of the shrine.

To really finish things off strong, prioritize getting these items to deal the most damage:

  1. Battery – boosts your attack speed.
  2. Beefy Ring – Significantly improves damage per Max HP.
  3. Credit Card (Green) – increases Luck stat while opening chests.
  4. Credit Card (Red) – increases damage while opening chests.
