Timothy Olyphant Joins Anya Taylor-Joy Apple Series ‘Lucky’

Timothy Olyphant joins the cast for the upcoming Apple TV+ miniseries titled “Lucky.

It’s been discovered that Olyphant will be part of the series, joining the already confirmed star Anya Taylor-Joy and more recent addition Annette Bening.

The movie “Lucky” is adapted from Marissa Stapley’s novel with the same title. This book was a top-seller on The New York Times list and was chosen for Reese Witherspoon’s Reese’s Book Club. According to the official synopsis, Taylor-Joy portrays a woman who abandoned her criminal upbringing in the past, but is forced to revert to her darker, criminal self once more as a last resort to free herself from her troubled history.

Olyphant will play John, Lucky’s father.

This is the second Apple series featuring Olyphant. Exclusively reported by EbMaster, he’s set to lead a forthcoming golf-themed comedy series on the streaming platform, joining forces with Owen Wilson.

Tim Olyphant recently reprised the character of US Marshal Raylan Givens from the FX show “Justified: City Primeval,” a continuation of the series where he played the same role for six seasons. The original show earned him an Emmy nomination for best actor in a drama. Apart from this, Olyphant has also starred in other popular TV shows such as “Deadwood” (revived in 2019), “The Mandalorian,” and “Santa Clarita Diet.” In “The Mandalorian,” he was nominated for an Emmy in 2021, reprising his role as Cobb Vanth. His film credits include “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “Amsterdam.” He is also set to appear in Noah Hawley’s upcoming FX series, “Alien: Earth.

Jonathan Tropper together with Cassie Pappas are transforming “Lucky” into a TV series. They’ll both oversee the show as co-managers and high-ranking producers. Tropper is responsible for production under his exclusive agreement with Apple through Tropper Ink. Reese Witherspoon, along with Lauren Neustadter, takes on the role of executive producer for Hello Sunshine, a division of Candle Media. Taylor-Joy handles her responsibilities as executive producer under her Ladykiller Films label. Jonathan Van Tulleken will direct multiple episodes, including the first one, and serve as an executive producer. Apple Studios will be in charge of production.
