Timothée Chalamet’s Team Offered to Pay Lookalike Contest’s $500 Fine, Says Event Organizer

As a veteran movie reviewer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in New York City was nothing short of extraordinary! The sheer energy and enthusiasm surrounding this event were palpable, even through my screen.

Timothée Chalamet’s representatives have proposed covering the $500 penalty that was imposed following the popular Chalamet doppelganger competition held at New York City’s Washington Square Park in October, as reported by the event organizer, YouTube personality Anthony Po.

On October 27th, Timothée Chalamet unexpectedly showed up at a contest where he served as the model, much to the delight of the large gathering who had come under the famous arch in the park to witness his curly-haired duplicates. The NYPD eventually requested that the massive crowd disperse, and the organizer, Po, was fined $500 for hosting a public event without the necessary permit.

In a recent interview with People, Po humorously commented that Chalamet’s team had offered to pay for a ticket, which was quite amusing. However, despite declining their generous offer, Po didn’t have to bear the $500 cost himself; instead, the expense was covered by Partiful, the digital invite app.

At the event, Po missed out on meeting or spotting Chalamet. He mentioned, “Perhaps if he had stuck around till the end, I might have awarded him a consolation prize or similar.

Nevertheless, he mentioned that he had been commended by Chalamet’s team regarding the competition. He explained their sentiment as, “They essentially said something like, ‘We found it amazing. Thank you very much.’ It was all positive and enjoyable.

The Chalamet look-a-like competition was advertised across New York City using flyers and a public invitation on Partiful. By the day of the event, over 2,500 people had confirmed their attendance. The winner, Miles Mitchell, who is 21 years old, received a trophy and a $50 cash prize.

Various international competitions have popped up globally, comparing celebrities’ likenesses, such as Paul Mescal, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, and Glen Powell, due to the viral phenomenon.
