Okay, so I’ve been seeing this crazy thing on TikTok where people are bringing *pumpkins* to Starbucks instead of, you know, actual cups! It’s totally dividing people – some think it’s hilarious, others are just baffled. I can’t believe it’s a real trend, but apparently it is!
As soon as fall arrives, Starbucks customers eagerly anticipate the return of pumpkin spice lattes. This popular drink, often called “PSL,” marks the start of the season for many coffee enthusiasts, and they enjoy it to the fullest.
You might assume enjoying autumn fully means getting a pumpkin spice latte daily, and you’d be correct! However, some serious PSL enthusiasts have really taken things to the next level.
Recently on TikTok, some Starbucks customers have started bringing in real pumpkins and asking baristas to pour their drinks directly into them, instead of using regular cups or travel mugs.

Starbucks customers are taking pumpkins to be filled up
Okay, so I saw this crazy TikTok the other day. This person filmed themselves buying a pumpkin at the grocery store, and then – get this – they took it to Starbucks and had them *fill it up* with pumpkin spice latte! The video already has over 300,000 views, which isn’t surprising, it’s pretty wild!
Some baristas were delighted to make these special requests happen. One barista exclaimed, “A real pumpkin? Great! I’ll ring up a tall drink, and if it’s a bit extra, we can add some whipped cream to cover the cost. This is wonderful!”
Some people have reported being prevented from ordering the Pumpkin Spice Latte directly with the pumpkin-shaped cup. TikTok user Kaurie Raye shared that she had to order her coffee in a regular cup and then pour it into the pumpkin herself.
This trend has caused division not only among Starbucks workers, but also among those watching from the outside. People are unsure how to react to it.
Someone warned that it could make you really sick. Another person thought it was a cute idea, but worried about the health risks. As a joke, someone else predicted Starbucks would start letting customers bring their own pumpkins.
So, I’m not sure if Starbucks is going to officially say we *can’t* bring in pumpkins for the fall vibes yet. Right now, it looks like it’s totally up to whatever the barista at your local store thinks is okay.
