As a frequent New York City commuter and avid TikToker, I never imagined my daily subway ride would turn into a heart-pounding horror story. The incident involving Chris Olsen and Kara, two fellow passengers who were caught in a terrifying stabbing on the subway, has left me shaken to my core.
I’ve taken the subway countless times before, but never have I felt so grateful for the mundane conversations about work or the latest viral dance challenge to distract myself from the potential danger lurking just feet away. The idea that a man could pull out a knife and attack another passenger in broad daylight on a crowded train is simply unfathomable.
Seeing Chris Olsen’s video of his experience only solidified my fear as I watched him and Kara’s faces filled with terror, their voices quivering with adrenaline. The fact that they had to wait for the train to come to a complete stop before they could escape is a testament to their bravery, but also serves as a reminder of how vulnerable we can be in public places.
As I sit here writing this, I can’t help but wonder what I would do if I found myself in such a situation. Would I be brave like Chris and Kara? Or would I freeze with fear, paralyzed by the unimaginable horror unfolding before my very eyes?
I’ve always joked about the subway being like a real-life version of the game “Subway Surfers,” but after this incident, it feels more like a twisted version of “Silent Hill.” I guess I’ll stick to taking cabs for a while… unless, of course, they start building mysterious cabins in the backseats. Then I might just have to join Leakendad and call the police!
Social media personality Chris Olsen was startled when he had to flee from a knife attack on a train within the New York City metro system.
On New Year’s Day, as reported by our local news channel ABC7, two separate individuals suffered stab wounds in their backs.
Due to the incident, individuals riding the subway near the site of the stabbing hurriedly exited at the next station in fright, as authorities like the police and EMS attended to the wounded individuals.
Social media sensation Chris Olsen was caught up in a violent incident involving stabbings, which forced him to flee. He later shared a video detailing his harrowing ordeal.
Chris Olsen “almost died” on the subway
He began the video, joined by his companion Kara, by stating that they had narrowly escaped a stabbing incident on the subway moments ago.
Frequently, arguments break out among passengers on the subway. When a commotion started and people began shouting, Kara grew apprehensive. I reassured her, ‘Don’t worry,’ such incidents are common. However, Kara later confided in me that one of them had drawn a large knife.
As a quick-thinking gamer, I found myself in a real-life crisis: A man was charging towards someone with a knife, so I swiftly acted, yanking open the door to switch train cars mid-ride.
Next to the car in the subway train, the door was locked, but after a while, the train halted completely. The conductor then opened the door following this pause. As reported by Olsen, around twenty minutes later, the train resumed its journey and reached the next subway station where they were able to disembark.
Viewers took to the comments to share their thoughts, with many shocked about the whole situation.
Three different news stories have mentioned it. I’m incredibly relieved that you two are safe. That’s truly terrifying,” the user commented.
A person mentioned: “I was talking to my mother a moment ago about how unsettling the subway has become lately. It’s truly awful.
“Oh gosh I’m so happy both of you are safe,” a third said.
Recently, Chris’ encounter on the subway has become another viral tale, spreading rapidly through the quick-clip platform, TikTok. User Leakendad found himself compelled to contact law enforcement upon discovering an enigmatic wooden shack hidden within the woods behind his residence.
