Tides of Annihilation Celebrates Chinese New Year and Year of the Horse With New Trailer

Eclipse Glow Games just released a new trailer for their upcoming action-adventure game, Tides of Annihilation. This trailer isn’t about the game’s story or how it plays – instead, it’s a fun celebration of Chinese New Year and the beginning of the Year of the Horse. You can watch it below!

The trailer introduces us to Gwendolyn, who is racing to catch her train. She just misses it, but luckily, a unique train pulled by horses arrives instead. When the doors open, she finds a group of people – likely both allies and enemies – already on board. As the train departs, we see someone else who also missed it, distracted by their heavy bags.

The action RPG Tides of Annihilation was first shown at the February State of Play event last year. It’s being created by a team of experienced developers who have previously contributed to popular games like Persona, For Honor, Assassin’s Creed, and Yakuza. The game reimagines the Arthurian legend, setting the story in both London and the magical world of Avalon.

Gwendolyn unexpectedly gains incredible powers that allow her to command King Arthur’s Knights. She embarks on a quest to stop a demonic invasion of Earth, all while hoping to find and save her sister.

Eclipse Glow Games says the game’s combat will let players control Gwendolyn and another knight simultaneously, creating a special fighting style. The game’s levels are massive, featuring huge knights wandering around London.

A longer gameplay trailer released last year showed off more of the game, including how it plays. Battles will be quick and action-packed, with the main character, Gwendolyn, using a variety of impressive moves inspired by the Knights of the Round Table. Players will explore the world by running and jumping through different environments.

Last November, a new gameplay trailer revealed a boss battle against Tyronoe. Although she can manipulate reality, Gwendolyn is equipped to fight her, bolstered by reinforcements to her Knights of the Round Table, including Sir Lamorak.

So, the lead producer, Kun Fu, just dropped some info after the trailer, and it sounds awesome! Apparently, this game is pulling inspiration from a bunch of my favorite action movies – stuff like Inception, The Matrix, and even Doctor Strange. What connects them all? They mess with reality in really cool and mind-bending ways, and that’s exactly what the game is going for!
