A railway worker in Scotland has given a home to a kitten she found abandoned on a train back in January.
A Scotrail worker named Marie Fox found a small kitten abandoned in a blue and grey pet carrier while she was working on the morning of January 8th.
A young, six-month-old tabby cat – a female with brown and white markings – was left on the 8:25 Scotrail train traveling from Helensburgh to Edinburgh, Scotland, apparently abandoned by its owner.
Fox looked after the kitten, who they playfully named Annie after the famous musical, until they and their colleagues handed her over to the Glasgow branch of Cats Protection, a local cat rescue organization.

I was so happy to see Annie finally find a home! She was being looked after by a foster organization, but then Mr. Fox officially adopted her in February and gave her a new name – Daisy! It’s just wonderful to see her settled and loved.
She explained to local news that they decided to name her Daisy, hoping it would mark a new beginning. After losing her own cat last August, adopting Daisy felt like wonderful timing. She’s already filled their home with happiness, and they’re excited to see her grow up healthy and content.

Fox confessed she hadn’t expected to bring Daisy home with her, recalling how she first found her on the train.
I’ll never forget how tiny and fragile she seemed when I first met her. Being able to give her a secure and happy home now is truly wonderful. I’m so thankful to Cats Protection for looking after her, and to everyone who followed Annie’s journey.
Elaine Brennan, coordinator for Cats Protection’s Glasgow branch, said their JustGiving fundraiser for Daisy’s care exceeded expectations, reaching £5,000 (about $6,750 USD).
We received a lot of applications to adopt Annie, but we’re confident Marie is the ideal owner,” Brennan explained. “We’re excited to watch Annie flourish with Marie and her family.

ScotRail responded to the story with a playful post on X, applauding Fox for rescuing “little Daisy” after she was found left on one of their trains last month.
I just heard the most amazing story! On February 17th, NYPD officers rescued a beautiful Bald Eagle that was hurt and stuck on the Hudson River. It’s seriously warming my heart – such a great rescue!
