This Villain Team Feels Like A No-Brainer For Prime Video’s Live-Action Spider-Man Show

As a big fan of these kinds of stories, I’m really excited about the upcoming Spider-Noir series on Prime Video! It’s set in this cool, film-noir version of the Marvel universe – Earth-90214 – and it’s got Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man, which is already awesome. But I think there are a few classic villains who have to show up, and honestly, it would be a huge surprise if they didn’t. They just fit the vibe perfectly and would make so much sense in this world.

We know we’ll see updated versions of classic characters like Black Cat, Sandman, Robbie Robertson, and Silvermane. The Spider-Noir trailer also suggests appearances by villains such as Molten Man and Man-Spider. Plus, there are likely to be a few unexpected surprises!

When considering potential villains for the story, the Enforcers – a trio who haven’t received much attention – are strong contenders.

Why The Enforcers Make A Lot Of Sense For Spider-Noir

It appears Nicolas Cage’s Ben Reilly is heading for a showdown with Silvermane, a major criminal in the Marvel universe and a longtime enemy of Spider-Man. In the original comics, Silvermane is a powerful crime boss with many connections, so he’s likely surrounded by dangerous criminals and hired killers.

Spider-Man could call on a team of villains known as the Enforcers to help him. They first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #10 and are known for fighting on the streets without superpowers. While the group has grown over time, the most famous version includes three criminals: Ox, Fancy Dan, and Montana.

Ox is the team’s powerhouse, while Fancy Dan adds skill and grace with his martial arts expertise. Montana, inspired by the American cowboy, primarily fights using a lasso. Notably, all three of these original Enforcers have versions of themselves in Marvel’s “Noir” universe.

Given their roles as criminals, it’s easy to see these three characters as Silvermane’s hitmen in the Spider-Noir series, particularly since the show is focusing on that specific part of the story. The series could use existing interpretations of the characters from the Noir universe, or develop their own darker, more intense versions of these classic Silver Age gangsters.

These three characters naturally fit into the criminal underworld the new Spider-Man story seems to be building, potentially as hired muscle for Silvermane, sent to pursue Spider-Man. While none of them are strong enough to defeat Spider-Man on their own, their combined abilities could make them formidable opponents and give him a tough fight.
