This Switch 2 Party Game About Mice Is Built Around, You Guessed It, Mouse Controls

Nitrome, creators of Shovel Knight Dig, have revealed their latest title, named Mouse Work. This innovative game is specifically designed to utilize the mouse controls of the yet-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2.

Mouse Toss offers a fun twist on the concept of “mouse”. It’s a lively multiplayer game where participants manipulate Joy-Con controllers in mouse mode to control mice, navigating through various mini-games. The trailer unveils some of these activities, such as stacking boxes, painting lines on a canvas, closing pesky pop-up ads on a computer screen, blasting asteroids in space, leading rock climbers up a cliff, and other engaging tasks.

In Mouse Work, each mini-game serves as a task assigned to players, who need to finish them to acquire Cheddar, the in-game money. Subsequently, players can spend their Cheddar on new visual enhancements for the mouse cursors they manage. The game allows you to play alone or with others. A game that closely resembles it is called Part-Time UFO.

Noteworthy among Switch-2 indie games is Mouse Work, which was the first announced following the system’s unveiling last week. Similar to a game like Snipperclips: Cut It Out Together!, it stands out as a family-friendly, cooperative launch title designed to introduce players to key Nintendo hardware concepts. While Snipperclips focused on easy co-op play, Mouse Work leverages the mouse functionality of the Joy-Con 2 controllers.

Nitrome hasn’t announced an exact release date for Mouse Work as of now, but they hinted that it might follow closely after the anticipated launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which is scheduled for June 5. Alongside Mario Kart World, this new console will debut with other exciting titles as well.
