This is what Ubisoft’s new shooter is supposed to look like. Huge scale, Unreal Engine 5 and focus on multiplayer

Recent leaks suggest Ubisoft is developing a new online shooter, currently known as Project Scout. Some early information and images have appeared online.

New shooter from Ubisoft

I’ve been following the news about Ubisoft’s upcoming games, and I remember reading an article by Tom Henderson earlier this year mentioning a project called Project Scout. He said it was likely going to be a Battle Royale, and a big inspiration was Apex Legends. Well, now someone claiming to have actually seen gameplay – a user named Shiny77 – is sharing some more details, which is really exciting!

Ubisoft is working on a new online first-person shooter taking place in a science fiction setting. It’s reportedly being built using Unreal Engine 5 and will emphasize competitive gameplay with cross-play functionality. According to insider Shiny77, the game is planned to be quite large in scope.

Later on, a user named 6leaksgg shared screenshots from the game, Project Scout, on X. The first image was a loading screen with concept art, hinting at the game’s overall feel. The second was a direct look at the game in progress, showing a work-in-development map and the game’s user interface.

Okay, so just a heads-up: Ubisoft hasn’t officially said anything about Project Scout yet. Basically, everything we’re hearing right now is just rumors, so don’t take it as gospel until we get confirmation!

This company has a history of making first-person shooter games, but their quality has varied. Their game Rainbow Six Siege has remained popular for nearly a decade, proving to be a major success. However, their more recent title, XDefiant, was discontinued just over a year after launch. It remains to be seen whether their new project, Project Scout, will succeed—or even be released.
