This Is Fine meme turned into a game & you can play the demo right now

Everyone loves the ‘Disaster Dog’ meme, and now it’s getting its own video game! It’s a challenging Metroidvania-style game, though likely not quite as difficult as the highly anticipated ‘Silksong’.

The popular meme of a dog calmly sitting in a burning room comes from a 2013 comic by K.C. Green. The dog famously says, “This is fine,” and the meme quickly became a way to react to situations where things are falling apart, but you feel powerless to stop it, or when you’re trying to appear calm despite a chaotic reality.

The popular “This Is Fine” meme is now a playable video game! Called “This Is Fine: Maximum Cope,” it’s a Metroidvania-style adventure, and you can expect to find yourself in that familiar, defeated pose quite often after repeated failures.

‘This is fine’ meme officially turned into a Metroidvania

Inspired by the popular meme, *This Is Fine: Maximum Cope* is a new side-scrolling platformer developed by Numskull Games. It brings the meme’s chaotic energy to life with funny, hand-drawn visuals and challenging levels. Numskull Games has a knack for creating games that are both difficult and charming, as seen in titles like *Final Vendetta*, *Clive ‘N’ Wrench*, and *Battle Axe*.

I just saw the teaser trailer for this new game, and it looks absolutely wild! The art style is really cute and cartoonish, but don’t let that fool you – the levels are packed with traps and funny, but dangerous, enemies. From what I’ve seen, you’ll be doing a lot of fighting and dodging, and – get this – apparently, the main character, this adorable little dog, drinks a *ton* of tea! It seems totally fitting, honestly.

A free demo of This Is Fine: Maximum Cope is live and runs from October 13 to October 20, giving players an early taste of the chaos. The full release of This Is Fine: Maximum Cope is set for March 2026, but no solid release date has been revealed just yet.
