This grocery chain just released an $11 toothpaste smoothie and critics are split

Erewhon has released a new, limited-edition smoothie that’s designed to leave your mouth feeling clean and fresh, like you’ve just brushed your teeth with mint toothpaste.

The grocery store, based in California, is now selling a new smoothie called Mint Condition Smile Smoothie, created in partnership with the oral-care brand Boka. The 12-ounce smoothie, inspired by toothpaste, costs $11.

This special smoothie is being advertised as tasting like the fresh, clean feeling you get after brushing your teeth with Boka’s Ela Mint toothpaste.

This refreshing smoothie combines citrus green tea, creamy coconut milk, fresh mint, mango, and banana. It also includes chlorophyll, blue spirulina, and silica for an extra boost. Finished with crunchy cacao nibs and coconut flakes, it contains a touch of caffeine from the green tea. You can find it at all 14 Erewhon locations in Los Angeles through the end of November.

Erewhon’s toothpaste smoothie sparks debate

People online have very different opinions about the smoothie – some really love it, while others strongly dislike the partnership.

TikTok user NotTashS was surprised by the flavor, describing it as something you have to get used to.

“It was bad,” commented a user under Tash’s post.

Another said: “Yeah, I won’t be getting that one.”

Erewhon is famous for its new smoothie flavors each month, and often creates them in partnership with popular brands or celebrities. For example, in August 2024, they teamed up with Sabrina Carpenter to create a smoothie called “Short N’ Sweet.”
