Okay, so Figure AI just unveiled this robot, and honestly, it’s a little wild. They’re saying it can actually do stuff around the house – like, clean up and water your plants – and it does it *really* well. It’s kinda creepy how precise it is, not gonna lie.
Figure AI is a new company focused on building robots, and they aim to create a versatile, human-like robot that can do a variety of tasks.
So, I’ve been following this company, and they just unveiled their latest creation – a humanoid robot called Figure 03. Honestly, it kind of *looks* like a super advanced crash test dummy, but the way it moves is surprisingly human-like. They’ve packed it with a bunch of cool new tech that helps it get around and actually *do* simple tasks. It’s pretty impressive!
Figure 03 uses an AI system called Helix to process what it sees and decide what to do. Helix is described as a ‘vision-language-action AI,’ and you can think of it as the core intelligence powering the robot.
This 5-foot-8-inch robot is equipped with sensors, a hand system, and an advanced vision system. Figure AI designed this vision system for quick and precise movements based on what it sees.

The Figure 03 brings science fiction to life
The Figure 03 robot is advertised on the company website as being able to handle everyday household chores. This includes simple tasks like washing dishes and carrying food, as well as more complicated ones like doing laundry and selecting the appropriate wash cycle.
The most remarkable thing about Figure 03 is how skillfully it uses its hands and fingers. Figure AI explains that the hands have built-in cameras, giving it visual feedback while grabbing things and allowing it to adjust its movements instantly.
Figure AI aims to create a versatile robot capable of doing tasks like a human and learning through direct interaction with people.
Figure AI is building for the future, designing its Figure 03 robot to be mass-produced. They’ve established a complete manufacturing process and supply chain for humanoid robots, all handled at their BotQ facility.
Figure AI’s CEO, Brett Adcock, told Time that their goal is to create a robot capable of handling most household tasks on its own, throughout the day. While they haven’t achieved this yet, they’re aiming for it by 2026, and acknowledge it will require significant effort.
Figure states that the 03 model is cheaper to produce than previous versions, though it might still be a bit expensive for customers.
In early 2025, analyst Adcock predicted that Figure’s 03 robot could cost between $20,000 and $30,000 – about the same price as a used car.
Although the newest Figure 03 model isn’t yet available to the general public and is currently limited to select clients, Figure has a history of successful sales. For example, the company previously sold the Figure 02 model to brands like BMW, who use it in their car part assembly lines.
A new technological advancement is capturing attention – and causing some concern – after a social media influencer shared a visit to a Japanese hotel run entirely by robots.
