I’m really excited – Netflix just released a new trailer for Season 4, and it looks amazing! Liam Hemsworth is back, and the action is seriously ramped up. Mark your calendars, because it hits Netflix on October 30th!
The latest trailer opens with Geralt drawing his sword, ready to confront a dangerous enemy. A voiceover states, “Geralt, you’ve spent your life fighting monsters and people,” shown through scenes of him battling a giant spider. “Everything you are is about finding someone you believe you’ve let down.” The trailer then shifts to focus on Ciri (Freya Allen), the princess of Cintra who is destined to be connected with Geralt, and who will have a more significant part in the story next season.
This episode really digs into Ciri’s growing power and her internal struggle – she’s questioning where she truly belongs, muttering about being ‘lost, never found.’ But there’s a definite sense that things aren’t what they seem with her, hinted at by another character’s warning that she’s hiding something. The real heart of the episode, though, is the assembling of Geralt’s new crew. Seeing this ragtag bunch come together, Geralt can’t help but crack a smile, thinking to himself, ‘What a company I’ve ended up with!’ It’s a fun setup for what’s to come, and I’m excited to see this team in action as they journey across the Continent.
The trailer offers viewers their initial glimpse of Anya Chalotra as Yennefer in the upcoming season, where she delivers a worrying warning: “Something is changing across the Continent. Vilgefortz is amassing forces, and Ciri is somehow connected to his plans.” We then see Vilgefortz (played by Mahesh Jadu), head of the Brotherhood of Mages, declaring his intent to claim Ciri for himself. However, Yennefer foresees a path to victory, stating, “We can win this – if we raise our own army.”
The trailer also features scenes of Yennefer, Geralt, and their friends getting ready for and fighting different monsters. At one moment, Geralt asks, “What if I can’t save her?” The trailer then shows Ciri bravely fighting in a difficult battle.
The trailer ends with Ciri stating, “Saving someone is the most important job.” Text on screen reveals that Season 4 of *The Witcher* will focus on a hopeful theme: “Hope is Reborn.” The trailer also hints at the change in lead actors, with a question directed at Liam Hemsworth – who is taking over the role from Henry Cavill – asking, “How will you be reborn?”
New Images from The Witcher Season 4 Tease Geralt’s Battle for Ciri
I was so excited by the new *Witcher* trailer, but Netflix had even more in store! They also dropped a bunch of new photos from Season 4, and they really hint at the incredible adventure Geralt and Yennefer are going on to save Ciri. There’s a sweet moment of them embracing, and another beautiful scene of them together on a hillside. But it’s not all romance – we also get a glimpse of the action to come, with Yennefer gearing up for a fight and Geralt and Jaskier clearly in a tricky situation! I can’t wait to see it all unfold.
Chris Hemsworth will take over the role of Geralt in Season 4 of *The Witcher*. While the show has been a consistent hit for Netflix, Hemsworth’s arrival also signals the beginning of the end for the series. Renewed for one more season in 2024, this means there aren’t many episodes of *The Witcher* remaining, no matter how fans respond to Hemsworth’s performance.
The Witcher Season 4 arrives on Netflix on Oct. 30, 2025.
