You couldn’t ask for a more perfect start to a Bravo season than seeing the sign from Jax’s bar taken down and left on the sidewalk. It perfectly sets the tone for what’s to come, but I’m dying to know how it happened. Did Bravo plan to capture that moment? Did someone connected to the show know it was happening and tip off the producers? Or was it just a lucky coincidence caught on camera? I need a full behind-the-scenes explanation on the Bravo website about those few seconds of footage!
Jax is definitely out of the picture, so the show is checking in with everyone else to see what they’ve been up to. Brittany is happy with Cruz, who loves dinosaurs, but she and Jax are still technically married because he hasn’t signed the divorce papers – not surprising at all! She’s also reconnected with an old friend, Brandon, whom she knew as a teenager in Kentucky. He now lives in California, and they recently vacationed in Cabo. He wants to date her, but she turned him down. Zack is concerned Brittany might be repeating past mistakes, and honestly, it’s possible, though I’m hoping she won’t. Brandon seems like a good guy, and he’s attractive, so I’m willing to give him a chance.
Zack is still living in West Hollywood, looking great thanks to a weight loss medication, and is still happily with his boyfriend, Benji, who’s Canadian. Knowing the current political situation, he jokingly but seriously clarifies that Benji is legally staying in the U.S. with a valid visa. Zack also openly shares that they’re in an open relationship. He’s playfully hinting that he’s popular and looking for attention, but specifically asks people not to send him unsolicited explicit photos. He emphasizes that any such images should only be sent with enthusiastic consent.
Jasmine and Melissa recently moved to Sherman Oaks and are falling behind on wedding plans. Jasmine claims she wants a relaxed wedding, but then rattled off a long list of things she doesn’t want – everything from kids and overly bright dresses to mimes and even climate change! Surprisingly, a lot of her dislikes are things many people can understand.
Michelle recently moved into a quirky, cottage-like house in West Hollywood – it seriously looks like something out of a fairytale! Her ex, Aaron, who was a bit odd, finally broke up with her, which is good, and I’m thankful Lala is there to poke fun at his appearance instead of me. On top of that, Michelle and Jesse are still legally married. Michelle says Jesse keeps delaying the divorce by refusing to sign the papers. He claims it’s complicated, but honestly, it seems like he’s just unwilling to let go of control and is punishing Michelle for wanting out. Since she’s leaving with nothing, money isn’t the issue – it’s clearly about power and his refusal to accept her decision.
Danny and Nia recently moved to Santa Clarita, and Nia seems unhappy about it, sacrificing her own well-being so Danny could get a pool with a safety fence. They now have four children under the age of four, and Nia recounts nearly giving birth in the car due to the long drive to her hospital in Los Angeles. She really needs to return to a more convenient location.
Kristen Doute is finding motherhood incredibly challenging. Three months after giving birth to her daughter, Kaia, she’s barely left the house, admitting she feels capable of little else. When she finally meets a friend, Nia, for coffee just a short walk from home, she arrives late and visibly stressed. As someone without children, I used to be annoyed by mothers taking up space with strollers in coffee shops. But seeing Kristen, someone I’ve followed for years, struggle with something as simple as a coffee date completely changed my perspective. It made me realize how much strength it takes for any new mother to leave the house with a baby, and I’ll never judge them again.
Luke is struggling with the change in his relationship, particularly the lack of intimacy with Kristen. While it’s understandable to want to be close to your partner, is it possible to find temporary satisfaction elsewhere? Perhaps exploring personal pleasure could help him manage until Kristen’s desire returns. Similar to how Schwartz has focused on self-improvement through dating, could Luke focus on self-satisfaction for a while?
The most hilarious moment of the episode happens when Lala reveals that her mom thinks her daughter, Sosa (a name that almost looks like a mistake!), looks just like Luke. Then Luke drops the bombshell that he actually donated sperm to the same bank Lala used! The show cuts back to Lala’s sperm donor party from a previous season of Vanderpump Rules, and it seems likely that Luke was one of the donors. Seeing side-by-side photos of Luke and Sosa, it’s easy to see the resemblance! I’d even consider him as a donor myself – he’s good-looking, intelligent, in shape, and seemingly healthy. What’s not to love? It’s also strangely fitting that Kristen, of all people, would end up being Sosa’s stepmother.
Lala is back for the whole season, and so is Tom Schwartz, who’s been going through a tough time. He lost his bar, his money, and went through a divorce, and he’s now trying to rebuild his life. While he might seem a bit down and out, I still like Schwartz – and Katie says he’s generally easygoing. At a party for Kristen and Nia’s baby, he flirted with Michelle and pretty much asked her out. I’m skeptical about them as a couple, though. After 11 years on Lisa Vanderpump’s reality show, Schwartz understands the need for a storyline, even if it feels forced. He’s definitely willing to play up drama – remember when he paid Lisa Vanderpump with a briefcase full of dollar bills? He knows how TV works, but unfortunately, his mentor wasn’t always the most subtle.
We still haven’t spoken to Janet, who’s been blocked by Nia everywhere, even on sites like WikiFeet, and whom Kristen wants nothing to do with. Before filming began, Brittany had a pool party and invited everyone and their kids. She told Kristen that Janet likely wouldn’t come, but Janet unexpectedly showed up. Kristen immediately told Janet she wasn’t welcome and needed to leave. Janet had to leave right away, and her son was upset the entire drive home, wanting to swim with his friends and not be involved in the conflict. It’s pretty clear who the child’s father is. Interestingly, Jason wasn’t featured in this episode, which was unusual.
Janet, Michelle, Brittany, and Lala had dinner, and Janet expressed her hurt feelings to Brittany about a recent incident. Lala questioned why Brittany didn’t intervene. Now, Brittany is finding herself in the middle of the group’s drama and needs to choose a side or mediate better. Janet felt Brittany could have easily told Kristen that it wasn’t a good time to bring up the issue, especially while dropping the kids off at the pool. Brittany claims she was caught off guard and tries to please everyone, but perhaps she should have warned Kristen beforehand to be polite if Janet showed up. Initially, I sympathized with Janet, but then she told Lala that Nia would rather avoid her than deal with her husband’s issues. It seems Janet is determined to keep rehashing past conflicts from last season instead of moving forward, which is frustrating.
Michelle might have a new problem on her hands: Jesse’s girlfriend, Lacy. Lacy refused to be filmed at the season finale and made quite an entrance at the baby shower with a very bold, colorful dress. Jesse is frustrated that Michelle won’t discuss boundaries with Lacy, but Michelle rightly points out that’s his responsibility, not hers. She’s there to work with Jesse, and he needs to communicate with his own girlfriend. Just because Jesse relentlessly questioned Aaron about cheating doesn’t mean Michelle is obligated to mediate with Lacy to make things easier for him.
The episode concludes with a brief, unsatisfying conversation between Michelle and Lacy, and honestly, I’m immediately wary of Lacy. After watching reality TV for over twenty years, I’ve learned to trust my gut, and she sets off all the alarm bells. Everything I’ve seen about her raises major concerns – she reminds me of Ashley from Southern Charm, who also pretended to be reasonable while being incredibly manipulative. Lacy projects a nice image, but I suspect she’s secretly explosive and will cause drama for anyone nearby. Michelle confirms this, saying Lacy is known for sending legal threats, which explains why they avoided mentioning her name last season. Michelle also describes her as unpredictable and chaotic, like Jesse. Being around both Lacy and Jesse sounds like a recipe for disaster. To be honest, I’m thrilled to have a new villain to dislike!
